James,

I notice you begin in 1937, which would correspond to the second phase of the Palestinian revolt:

(Too many urls; google "the Arab Revolt in Palestine".)

"The 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine was a nationalist uprising by Palestinian Arabs in Mandatory Palestine against British colonial rule, as a demand for independence and opposition to mass Jewish immigration.[10][citation needed]

"The revolt consisted of two distinct phases.[11] The first phase was directed primarily by the urban and elitist Higher Arab Committee (HAC) and was focused mainly on strikes and other forms of political protest.[11] By October 1936, this phase had been defeated by the British civil administration using a combination of political concessions, international diplomacy (involving the rulers of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Transjordan and Yemen[1]) and the threat of martial law.[11] The second phase, which began late in 1937, was a violent and peasant-led resistance movement that increasingly targeted British forces.[11] During this phase, the rebellion was brutally suppressed by the British Army and the Palestine Police Force using repressive measures that were intended to intimidate the Arab population and undermine popular support for the revolt.[11]

According to official British figures covering the whole revolt, the army and police killed more than 2,000 Arabs in combat, 108 were hanged,[8] and 961 died because of gang and terrorist activities.[1] In an analysis of the British statistics, Walid Khalidi estimates 19,792 casualties for the Arabs, with 5,032 dead: 3,832 killed by the British and 1,200 dead because of terrorism, and 14,760 wounded.[1] Over ten percent of the adult male Palestinian Arab population between 20 and 60 was killed, wounded, imprisoned or exiled.[12] Estimates of the number of Palestinian Jews killed range from 91[13] to several hundred.[14]

The revolt in Palestine was unsuccessful, and its consequences affected the outcome of the 1948 Palestine war.[15] It caused the British Mandate to give crucial support to pre-state Zionist militias like the Haganah whereas on the Palestinian Arab side, the revolt forced the fleeing into exile of the main Palestinian Arab leader of the period, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini."

"His opposition to the British peaked during the 1936–39 Arab revolt in Palestine. In 1937, evading an arrest warrant, he fled Palestine and took refuge in, successively, the French Mandate of Lebanon and the Kingdom of Iraq, until he established himself in Italy and Germany. During World War II he collaborated with both Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy by making propagandistic radio broadcasts and by helping Germans recruit Bosnian Muslims for the Waffen-SS. On meeting Adolf Hitler he requested backing for Arab independence and support in opposing the establishment in Palestine of a Jewish national home."

"In 1945, Yugoslavia sought to indict the Mufti as a war criminal for his role in recruiting 20,000 Muslim volunteers for the SS, who participated in the killing of Jews in Croatia and Hungary. He escaped from French detention in 1946, however, and continued his fight against the Jews from Cairo and later Beirut. He died in 1974." Yasser Arafat was his nephew and successor.

"Irgun Zvai Leumi, ( Hebrew: National Military Organization) byname Etzel, Jewish right-wing underground movement in Palestine, founded in 1931. At first supported by many nonsocialist Zionist parties, in opposition to the Haganah, it became in 1936 an instrument of the Revisionist Party, an extreme nationalist group that had seceded from the World Zionist Organization and whose policies called for the use of force, if necessary, to establish a Jewish state on both sides of the Jordan.

Irgun committed acts of terrorism and assassination against the British, whom it regarded as illegal occupiers, and it was also violently anti-Arab. Irgun participated in the organization of illegal immigration into Palestine after the publication of the British White Paper on Palestine (1939), which severely limited immigration. Irgun’s violent activities led to execution of many of its members by the British; in retaliation, Irgun executed British army hostages.

Irgun’s members were extremely disciplined and daring, and their actions included the capture of ʿAkko (Acre) prison, a medieval fortress that not even Napoleon had succeeded in capturing. In the last days of the British mandate, it captured a large part of the city of Yafo (Jaffa).

On July 22, 1946, Irgun blew up a wing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, killing 91 soldiers and civilians (British, Arab, and Jewish). On April 9, 1947, a group of Irgun commandos raided the Arab village of Dayr Yāsīn (modern Kefar Shaʾul), killing about 100 of its inhabitants.

After the creation of Israel in 1948 Irgun’s last units disbanded and took the oath of loyalty to the Israel Defense Forces on September 1, 1948. Politically, it was the precursor of the Ḥerut (Freedom) Party, one of Israel’s most militant right-wing groups, which later merged with the Liberals into the Gaḥal Party. See also Stern Gang."

-------------------------------------------

The Irgun was absorbed by the IDF in 1948. Likud is an amalgamation of several right-wing parties. In the 2013 election, 34 parties competed for 120 seats in the Knesset. It might be a good idea to look at some of the political parties and their political platforms:

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-21073450

," Labour says it will seek a stable peace agreement that would include withdrawal from some Jewish settlements in occupied territory. "

YISRAEL BEITENU backs the creation of "a viable Palestinian state" and has outlined a plan to transfer certain areas with large Arab populations to future Palestinian sovereignty.

Hatnua: The movement has promised to push for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Mrs Livni was formerly foreign minister and chief negotiator with the Palestinians.

The Yesh Atid (There is a Future) leader also insists that the prime minister should hold substantive peace talks with the Palestinians. Negotiations stalled over two years ago because of the issue of Jewish settlements on occupied land. Mr Lapid backs a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict that would involve almost a complete withdrawal from the West Bank so that only the main settlement blocs would be retained.

http://www.bechirot.gov.il/elections19/ ... s_eng.aspx

In the 2013 election, Likud-Yisrael Beitenu only got 23.34% of the vote, or 31/120 of the Knesset, so the Government is a coalition of Likud, Yisrael Beiteinu, Yesh Atid , Hatnua and the Jewish Home. Among them, they have only 68 of 120 seats in the Knesset. So Israel is more than just Likud, and two of Likud's allies are talking about evacuation of the occupied territories, even though it is not on a scale necessary for an actual peace deal. And keep in mind that this is the extreme right-wing of the Israeli political system. There is still the left wing.

Hamas needs to make a deal before midnight tonight, or this just goes on.....

Once again, Israel murders infants, women and children:
Hamas said Israeli airstrikes failed to kill Mohammed Deif, the Islamic militant group's elusive military chief, who has escaped numerous Israeli assassination attempts in the past. Five people were killed, including Deif's wife and infant son, during the strike on a Gaza house, Hamas officials said. Deif was not present during the strike, Hamas said.

Why limit yourself to what others would allow ? Injustice should always be addressed regardless of how big.

Exclusive: Israel's Video Justifying Destruction of a Gaza Hospital Was From 2009
A video distributed by the Israeli military in July suggesting that Palestinian fighters had fired from the Al Wafa Rehabilitation and Geriatric Hospital in Gaza City was not shot during the recent Israeli attack on Gaza, and both audio and video clips were manipulated to cover up the fact that they were from entirely different incidents, a Truthout investigation has revealed.

Palestine's Abbas slams Hamas for running 'shadow govt' in Gaza:

http://rt.com/news/185792-abbas-fatah-hamas-split/

"President Abbas also accused Hamas of carrying out mass executions of Palestinian youths living in the Gaza strip, while Israel was bombing the area. The Jerusalem Post reports that Hamas killed 120 youths.

“More than 120 youths were killed [by Hamas] because they did not abide by the house arrest imposed on them,” Abbas said. “This is in addition to the extra-judicial execution of 30-40 people during the Israeli assault.”

Abbas also claimed that Hamas had lost “only” 50 of its men during the war, while 861 men belonging to his Fatah faction were killed. He did not say how the Fatah men were killed and by whom."

Maamulka moqdisho is just lucky it fell into the right set of alliances and avoided the shayateen. Israel, Saudi Arabia and UAE.

Somaliland is forced by lack of choice to fall into this alliance so may Allah have mercy on us .

Since the UAE is financing the Berbera port among a few other projects, maamulka Waqooyi has no choice but toeing the UAE's line.
