I am just opposed to this Isaaq fantasy of the 1977 war. The clan that stood to gain the most from a liberated Galbeed was always Darood. 60% of all Darood live in Ethiopia, and incorporation of that large population would have given us absolute control over all other Somalis. The portion of Hawd Isaaq inhabit is a tiny strip, absolutely nothing compared to the land that we were missing in Ethiopia.

I've always wondered how USP
managed to get 12 seats and NUF, the second largest party
in British Somaliland managed to get only a single seat.

Apparently, the SNL had an alliance with USP and
they somehow stole the votes of NUF and gave it to USP.

It explained how NUF, which was larger
than USP only got 1 vote while USP a smaller party got 12 seats!

The USP had absolutely no relevance in British Somaliland politics before independence.
