Here is a capture of my DNA relatives, all of them Somalis with the exception of some white girl mixed with Somalis and some Ertirean dude, rest are all Somalis from all over Somali regions. The T group are listed as my third cousins actually, so they are one point closer to me than some who are supposedly from my immediate clan

:damn:

Sorry bro, you sound disappointed. I am represented in your research group I assure you. If I was from a clan outside of those whom you took a sample of, I would have helped you. I put it this way: I am your average Somali, no surprises. Sorry about the dig I took at you. You are a brother, my own and I see you that way.
I was disappointed because I assumed you were Abgaal and I do not have much data on them.

I only have a mini heart attack when Dirs turn out to be E3b.

Just because I addressed Zumaale as my brother and my own? All Somalis legitimately, scientifically, visually fall within that category. I can not honestly say I am this tribe or that tribe cause I actually feel no special connection to a clan nor loyalty. Aabbahay iyo Hooday bes ayaa immediate family ii ah, followed by their own immediate blood relations(and I mean really immediate - people I can not marry), the rest are just extended Somali members whom I see as part of a bigger Somalis in general. Clan has absolutely gave me nothing of benefit. Waan ka dhashay that is it. Waxba iguma sheegtaan, anigana kuma sheegto.

Hence, why I called Zumaale a brother, and he is truly one in my heart. So are you(Even if you think you might not be).

Aisha, it is like Marmite.

Some people have an interest in it, others think what a waste of time.

For me, genetics is a scientific tool with which one can trace how members of a clan share a common lineage. I do not believe in concepts such as purity of 'race' or of the Somali ethnic group.

In the future everyone will be genetically tested and put into government databases.

I can foresee census data being based on genetic race and not self-identification.

Let's face it folks, ethnic Somalis are about as homogenous as they get.

Proponents of magical Arabian ancestors have well and truly been blown the fuck out ages ago.

Being Arab means being Nasab in the eyes of many Somalis, they lack one ounce of pride and self worth and can only act hard against each other , but squirm like the slabs of jelly they are when faced against foreigners. I've seen it many times and it's evident on this forum.

WTF did I say that was wrong or slanderous?

Saaxib we are an ethnic group but people need to get over the fact that the Somali identity is not something that was always fixed in stone. We are relatively distinct in culture, appearance and language from our neighbours. However, that does not mean we are the [chosen people that come from one stock. Rewind a few millenniums and your Awoowo was probably herding cattle/camels with the his fellow Cushites whilst mine was Allah knows where. Circumstances and fate brought us together, the rest is Somali history.

LET US NOT HIJACK THE THREAD GUYS.

Based, no one was talking about being an Arab.

SORRY MINNEAPOLIS MAYOR.
