Me too, I always mix up Thamud and those Prophet Hud was sent to. The only way I remember is 'Wash-shamsi wa duhaha. Wal-qamari idha talaaha' In that Surah I know they are talking about Prophet Saleh (as) and they mention the people of Thamud.
