Do you think those were her words, or a loose translation by the author designed for the benefit of white readers?

[quote="DawladSade"]Lard was not sold in Somalia. Her illiterate ass must not have known the most correct translation of subag or ghee and thought lard must be the most befitting translation.

Laakiin walaal, what has Islam to do with FGM? That thing knows that Islam has nothing to do with FGM...Waa iska dhuuni raacad...
I feel sorry for waalidkeed.... Bal maxay ku galabsadeen inay dhogorta ka qaaddo? Qaaxo loo keen...
Laakiin waan ku talax tegey eh, Ilaahay sow ma soo hanuunin karo? We never know...

I thought she was the author. From the poor writing I read as excerpts, will you say she isn't the author? And anyways that is why people have glossaries don't you think?
I have read plenty of books with ghee and other regional words with translations in the glossary.

That's the point, sis. This "thing" thought FGM and Islam went together, and if it wasn't for Islam she wouldn't been mutilated.
Ayaan, is very low in intelligence, trust me when I tell you. She is like a sponge she absorbs everything someone tells her.

Most people, when authoring bio's, use someone else to actually write. Im just guessing that the book is earmarked for white folk consumption, so they dumbed it down for them, in order to sell more.

It's called a "ghostwriter"
Someone writes for her, she pays them and are not given credit.
