Unclebin, do not dodge the question and statements or you will force me to reveal a much rather shameful history.

Let us go to the second statement, which is the statement of the 19th century writer, J. W. C Kirk in “The Yibirs and Midgans of Somaliland, their traditions and dialects”. He writes:

“In all other respects they are clean, and good Muslems, and I have been told that in the Mijjertein country, a Tomal often calls himself Mijjertein, and does marry into that tribe”

By the way guys, put some quality in your replies. You all flood the whole topic with like 10 replies per second.
Because I am proving your people to be excepting of Midgaans? That is not quality?

Dude listen here. He says I hear. did he live in the Mijjeryten country? Did he observe the culture for years like Cruttendon? NO. He is getting second hand Reporting.

While the UNHCR Man was in Gedo and observed the people saying in FIRST HAND, saying they would not marry Habar yacquub and Hawraarsame, who in many circles were midgaan. He is just validating that.

Don't get defensive!

How do you know my stance of government awareness in Somalia, perhaps having other illusions? This is not based on qabiil, there were not many high ranked positions for Marehan like I said, and many of them were extremely deprived when it came to education. Siad Barre gave many jobs to Marehans because of that common qabiil basis, but many of them did jobs horribly, and he was very displeased with the status of his tribesmen.

So do not come here, and tell me Marehans achieved high regarded positions in Somalia, they did not.

You have a way of tricking people.

You presented the Piece with Dhulbahante and took out there numbers which were 100,000. That is trickery and thievery. Why did you not show that the Habar Yoonis where larger according to that piece?

.
If Dhulbahante were 100,000 in 1950 that is no cause to be ashamed. That is a generous number if true considering that about 200,000 Dhulbahante died in 25 years of Darwiish Wars.

At one time there were 26,000 Dhulbahante cavalrymen estimated by the British to be in the Darwiish camp. Out of a population of how many? 200,000? 250,000? 300,000?
Cilmiile

You don't get it. He edited out the dhulbahante numbers and the habar jeclo numbers and the habar yoonis numbers which where estimates in 1920's if I am not mistaken. The principle is that he is using evidence to insult the isaaq and in the same piece hide the facts that he is supposedly using against them.

DO YOU COMPRENDE? Laughing

The dhulos where slaughtered I know that. they would be probably larger then both clans combined. But in 1920 there numbers where on par with habar jeclo and just below Habar yoonis.
He(Lewis) was probably using the report by Colonel Smith(Geelqaad). It is from the thirties. I have it. He called the Habar Yoonis the most powerful tribe in the protectorate. A later report by another official using Smith's research as a baseline, gathered more data in the fifties and concluded that Habar Awal were the most powerful tribe in the protectorate. Certainly, politically, they were the most dynamic.

And Dhulbahante were not slaughtered. They died as darwiishes, as well in Darwiish vs Dhulbahante engagements such as the bloody horror show at Ceeg(Habar Yoonis territory) Between the Ararsame and Darwiishes.

But their numbers were degraded above all by the mass deaths of women(many in prime childbearing age) and children due to war-induced famine.

Dying honourably is not the case. He edited his attempt to redicule the Isaaq with a piece in which he edited numbers which did not favour his argument.

BTW the darawiish fought for what they believed. But there numbers where squandered when they had bombs flying from the sky and made taleex in a single night a ghost town. THAT IS A SLAUGHTER.

Unclebin, aren't you forgetting something. His whole book is based on the the Yibirs and Midgans in the Northern Somalia, particulary where the Majeerteens lived. He is getting first-hand accounts of the Yibirs and Midgans from them and the Somalis and documents about their life.

He says and I quote:
"The majority live among the Mijjertein, on the east coast"

Unclebin you truly are incompetent, and I stand corrected when I said the UN did not say that, basically no one from the UN such a thing. Secondly, is reading quite difficult for you? It clearly states [numerous times] in the article that Abdishakur is a Coordinator for the Nomadic Primary Health Care Programme in Mandera. It does not say anywhere that the man works for the UN or the UNCHR. Get your facts straight, at least do some reading, instead of goggling "marexaan midgaan" and pasting the first golden ticket you see.

Alluring, you have not proven that you have any knowledge of the past Somali government, and the positions that were held and who held them, nor have you presented any sources to prove what your saying. So kindly excuse your nac-nac from this post walaal.

Warsame

Midgaan and tumaals live among all Somalis.

a family without Tumals meant they were in trouble cause who is gonna fashion the spears and knifes. And without midgaans who is going to make waabay poison for the arrows, not mention making the Wegered and Xakame and Koore for the horses from the hides they treat.

They were treasured members of the community for their contribution to the warmaking capacity of each tribe.

Unclebin, what is with you and so-called ridiculing of the Isaaq? Remember, aniga waxa ii dhalay Garxajis, why would I ridicule them with false statements? I only edited the numbers because I do not reconigze them. The reason I did not edit the other numbers of Isaaq subclans were because I did not whether they were correct or not whilst I for surely knew the Dhulbahanate one was in-correct.

I don't think I had to explain that and why the hell are we discussing that? Stick to the subject

You want your people to seem as though they did something profound with their lives, when in fact they didn't. What is happened in Gedo, or Kismayo? Nothing.

Why don't you give me sources on ANY Marehans who ranked in high positions? Well good luck, searching.
