I am worried that they will be slaves to the west and have their bases used by Nonmuslims and their women prostituted just like Djoubti when they went their way. Read the whole thread, these "Landers" are defending their right to have a friendship with Isreal the same ppl who have seized our holy mosque.

Also that name needs to change. Somalis do not analyze and take things in their literal meaning. Somaliland means "land of the Somalis"....There is only one way to solve this confusion...Name change.

What you need to know is we live in a global world and for anyone to prosper you will need to work with other countries. I am sure Israel will be apprehensive about somalis as they are muslims.

Nonsense, recognizing somaliland sets a bad precedence in the region. Imagine then, every ethnic group and clan is gonna want independence if things don't go exactly their way. What makes 'somaliland' case any different than Jubbaland, Galmadug, makhiir etc? Should the luo in kenya create a separatist enclave because they didn't like the election results in kenya?
