For those that saying these men 'dont exist' or throwing any negative comments towards these qualities.. think carefully. All of these are the beauties of the best man and husband, Muhammad ibn Abdullah (saw). He possessed all these qualities. Shouldnt every believing man strive to be like him, to be the best? Did he not advice his companions and the god-fearing men to do such things?
This relationship with his wives are truely beautiful, something both parties can benefit from. Aisha (ra) and Muhammad are most admired. May Allah (swt) make us like that!
We all know the expectations & requirements placed on husbands, but "Ideal husbands" simply don't exist. They're lacking in one aspect or another. Same way "Ideal wives" don't exist.
Ok. I understand where you're coming from. But 'Ideal' in this context is not something pretend. It is something with a role model behind it. It is something which every muslim should TRY to perfect. Because there is a consiquence if not and there are verious Hadiths and verses explaining the blessful marriage in islam.

"If a woman fears ill-treatment (mushuz) or indifference (i'radh) from her husband, it is not wrong if (at her initiative) the two set things peacefully to right between themselves; for, peace is best, and selfishness is ever present in human souls. But if you do good and are conscious of Him, behold, God is aware of all that you do... If the two break up, God provides everyone out of His abundance, for God is resourceful, wise." (4:128-130)

True and it is quite depressing.
That is why women should select while they still can and not settle.
That's Ideal alright. It's not that hard to find a decent person, the rules are pretty simple for every guy to follow. Girls should have high standards when it comes to relationships and shouldn't settle for less.....Many Somali girls settle for less, and it's no wonder they look so sad and depressed on their wedding days, it's like they know what they're in for.

I think it is the culture more than anything. If you smile you come across as dumb or something. Also they hardly move from the chair which is weird. Are you not suppose to say hello & thank people for attending your wedding. Some even carry gifts and stuff!

I still don't understand how they act all scared. I really believe they aren't happy, how else would you explain girls that have been married b4 with cheerless faces. A girl is supposed to be happy on her wedding night.
