TwisticLogic... don't be one dimensional. I have already stated that the TFG is corrupt to the core, inept and toothless. The TFG needs serious overhaul. Furthermore, I said Ethiopia is NEITHER our enemy NOR our friend. Ethiopia like all other nations has it's own set of interests. Sometimes those interests are incongruent with ours and thus cause disputes or wars for that matter. There's no atavistic hatred between Ethiopians and Somalis. If Germany and France can have peace after centuries of enmity, than so can Somalis and Ethiopians.

Now that we got that bit out of the way, lets be honest with ourselves. In the last 20 years, it became self-evidently obvious that the greatest enemy of Somalis are other Somalis. It wasn't ethiopia that maimed, looted, raped, starved and uprooted a million or so Somalis in the last decade. It was our fellow Somalis. Just like it is difficult for parents to accept their children dealing pot or involved with less than savory deeds, likewise it is difficult for us to accept the painful truth that our worse enemies are other Somalis. Don't be in self-denial. And I stand by what I said. I can live in peace and deal with Ethiopians far easier than I can deal with Somalis. I lived among Ethiopians. And I lived among Somalis. If you really think I'm alone in this view, please go visit Dir Dawa and Jigjiga and ask them who they rather live with.

I'm fully cognizant about the fact that Ethiopia would love to have weak and divided Somalia. But Ethiopia is here, what do we do about it? I say lets unite and put aside our difference, not temporarily but for life. Only united, reconcilatiated Somalis can kick out Ethiopia. You can't assess Ethiopia's invasion in a vacuum. There is a relevant context that explains Ethiopia's presence in SOmalia. History didn't start in Dec2006.

Lastly, let us put ourselves in Ethiopia's shoes, what would we do if we had if we had Ethiopia without a government for 20 years and was a host to anti-Somalia rebels like ONLF, OLF, SLF etc? Let me make an analogy. In N. America because the way detached homes are built if there's infestation of cockroaches in home they will in due time also infest their neighbors. If you suddenly see cockroaches all over your house and call the cockroach ppl for fumigation, the first thing they do is inspect your neighbor's homes. The treatment more often than not involves treating BOTH the newly infested home and as well as neighbors that might be hosts to these infestations. Somalia is the host to the cockroaches and Ethiopia is the neighbor. My developing point is that Ethiopia has earned the right to intervene in our internal affairs by mere virtue of us not looking getting our house in order. We can't really blame Ethiopia for our current predicament. We can only blame ourselves. And if we continue down this path of self-denial, Somalia and Somalis would lucky if they make the footnotes of history.
