Gurey25 summed it up pretty well.
We can't expect to be weak politically, have different agendas and then think of a military option.
Military option should be in the back of our minds and focus more on our political situation and the people having the same vision; the prosperity for one and another.

Besides, 2009 seems way to early.
In order for us to have international backing from country's such as Pakistan, Korea and perhaps even Turkey we need to be able to have something to offer for these country's.
You can forget about the Arab world.

The only thing Somalia requires is the immediate cessation of hostilities between the warring sides. Once this happens Ethiopia will leave on its own.

You people are deaf Somalia's plight if you still believe war is the way to go about solving our problems. Somalis never cease to amaze me walaahi

So Ethiopia is not going to leave because we are fighting against each other?

Ethiopia is only here so we can stop fighting against each other?

Ethiopia wants us to unite?

How foolish and stupid is this cunt-lander?

If somalis were going to ever unite they would have united against the ethiopians.
It is a sad state of affairs, most people would put aside their political differences and unite against a foreign aggressor but not somalis. If invasion of a foreign army can't unite them what can?

sometimes you can't help but to think how foolish people like this shilling idiot are. The brain is a terrible thing to waste and it is hard to believe even the most foolish person on earth is as foolish as these Ethiopian stooges.

How is he going to answer if i ask him to tell me what is in it for Ethiopia if their goal is to see Somalis united?

MinionsJSL,much as I may sympathise with your desire to liberate your homeland;certain factors ,obvious even to a layman like myself make this nothing more than a wetdream for easily excited adolescents.
To invade you'd need a functioning army, most likely an armoured unit, with integral antiair element.
Said unit must haver its own logistics-water,fuel,lubricants,food,etc.
FOreign tactical advisors would be necessary for such a tactical exercise is not a large scale raid.
Before even thinking of this is money-SERIOUS CASH!! to raise a brigade of 60+ T-80s,more advanced than the Ethio T-64s with all supporting vehicles for recovery, bridging, ambulance, recce etc.
In other words-seek ye first the political kingdom!!

Precisely, the TFG has no military strength to defend itself against Islamic Courts and Al-shabab onslaughts since it adopted a failed state. It is for that reason that the Ethiopian troops have become the de-facto TFG army and are now stationed in almost every corner, city and town in the country.

So let me make it clear to you again, the only thing our people require right now is not war but rather the immediate cessation of hostilities between the warring sides. Once this happens, there is no reason a TFG supporter like myself would insist the Ethiopians to stay any further, in fact I would be the first to stand with you for their immediate withdrawal once the extremist Islamic elements in Somalia change their tone; clearly, extremism will do absolutely no good for Somalia.

Air Canada,

What are you two-year-old? Waa maxaay the name calling sxb, I mean how are we to coexist if ones opinion can't be tolerated...Somalis! No wonder we are far behind lol

As far as your question goes, lets just say Ethiopia is trying to find an ally in Somalia to combat people that wish Addis Ababa harm...The TFG is that ally of hers right now and they are doing everything to protect it from the crazed Sheikh's who recently walked out of the Somali peace talks being held in Djibouti.

gurey

lets analyse our weak sides and strong sides if we follow this option.

I know the Ethiopian topography is quite a challenge.
But we are not going to invade from the vast Ogadeni desert southeast for Addis
From Dire Dawe the road is clear straight to Addis.

Our weak sides
We dont have any big friends , we have only small friends whom the best could only support us with equipment. We dont have any airforce to protect our march towards Addis.
US and EU would surely send data from the spy satelittes of any large Somali movements from east. But mind you the Israelis also had this data but where still caught on the bed when Egypt crossed Sinai.

Image

Now what do we really need to do?

and what is our goal with Addis

real negotiation

We should also think about economically destroying ethiopia, we can do this by printing vast amounts of the ethiopian currency i.e Birr and than flooding it in the ethiopian market.

We can also destroy ethiopian millitarly by focussing on destroying the ethipiopian tanks by using anti-tank missles.

All we really need is a good supply of anti-tank missles and i am sure that in a few weeks ethiopian army would be no more,
