Lol. I think a little soccer time won't upset a strong marriage at all. There are some activities that the husband would like to do with his friends - which is perfectly normal - and the same goes for the wife too. A little absence makes the heart grow fonder. If the husband spends a few hours on the weekend with his friends it should be encouraged because he does need to socialize & it's also some exercise. However, there should be a balance between family time & soccer time - he shouldn't spent all his free time with friends, nor should he neglect his friends & spent every waking hour with the family. I would like my husband to enjoy himself - and I wouldn't stand in the way of his enjoyment as long as it doesn't harm our marriage/the family. How about if he takes the children to soccer practice & you go to watch?

The one who loves his children & his wife? :|

He has to go to the Masjid for the five prayers - but who says you have to spent all your time in the Masjid? Our deen does encourage exercise & being in a healthy state physically & mentally. It's about striking a balance between working for Akhiraah & this Dunya, and between family time, work time & free time.
