Cali gaab You have a habit of making things harder than they are. We're talking about the history of the Somali people...the struggle our forfathers went through to librate our land. Incase you haven't noticed the Somali independence day is part of our identity. So we don't need cuqdad B.S...n stop changing the subject OK?

In one of the clips that circles around the net you can see my mother celebrating independance on June 26th, you see the pride of young optismistics looking forward to the future. It is very sad how we ended up here, the indpendance didn't even last one generation!

celebration??? You'll should mourn instead. Celebration idiin mayaale meesha.
Only somalilanders know how to kick it with their celebration. So call July 1st is almost unheard of these days.

What's the point in celebrating a war torn country oo waliba is currently occupied by foreign troops.

because independence has nothing to do with the last 20 focking years of bullshid, certainly not the last 18 months...which are only part of the history. Independence is about the men and woman who fought for the self determination of Somalis before and after the second world war and they should be examples for Somalis to go by.Gifted wrote:What's the point in celebrating a war torn country oo waliba is currently occupied by foreign troops.

So its like remembrance day, how depressing. Atleast those countries are better off today, look at somalia, what in the world have they accomplished? Instead of celebrating, maybe we should mourn.

well, go ahead and cry, i'd rather be glad atleast we had people in the past who knew what they were doing and went about and did itGifted wrote:So its like remembrance day, how depressing. I'm glad atleast we have worthwhile history of civility, not war, mooryans and shid
Re: June 26th, June 27th, July 1st.....
Or how about we work towards something we can actually celebrate? Remembering the past is nice but we're kinda overlooking the real issues here, I honestly would not support anyone to celebrate this, its as if you guys are trying to escape the reality of things.
