Dude, seriously, what's your problem? This is a friggin forum. If I've ever said anything that's offended you, tough luck, being on this forum means you're eventually going to be offended by something or someone. Just because something is a norm in a community doesnt neccessarily mean that its right. I mean look back 30yrs ago, women used to drink/smoke while pregnanat. That was the norm but as you know now its been proven that it can cause damage to a child. In the same respect, people may have thaught qabilism was okay, but look at our country now. Its in shambles because peole decided to hang on to something as stupid as qabil. I dont beleive qabil has braught anything but disgrace to our people. I agree with FAH that it is a disease, and should be abolished completely.

Anything in excess is never good and qabil is no exception. Qabil has had a positive purpose in our community esp. during our nomadic days, the problem is we're not really nomads anymore and we're having trouble applying qabil to our new settings. As for the civil war, the civil war didn't happen because of qabil but because of an unjust government. Sure it turned into clan x vs. clan y later on, but on the flip side many peoples lives were spared because their clan protected them..

i dont care because i see the qabiil thing is just a fake state of mind.

before they be my qabiil, my nationality, race they are human. so i treat them according to that. if they are the the wrong or wronged i go by prophet's saying:
help your brother thalim or mathloom, when sahabah asked i can help him if he was wronged how i can help when he is the wrong one?
prophet said: stop him from the wrong doing. that is a huge help his aakhira and adoon kisaba.

Ashley my mother dislikes somalis all together and i never thought about it until recently.
