Abaayo doqon ha iska dhigin( sorry, I know you're enlightened) but you should also know that if you see a good, successful marriage/family means a strong woman runs it. Should I say more?????? I believe a woman can make it or break it in a family...thats just ME.

Foxxy,

I think women in the west just want to get laid in a halal way.  Their mothers I guess, b/c they see them as examples. Knowing your standards matters, wont you agree?

** I'm making lots of sisters pissed off maanta but whatever**

Xidigow,

I'm glad we agree. See, atleast I will make him work for his money ( I mean my money).

   no you did not piss me off at all. Their mothers and standards? Well to be honest I am the way I am because of my father. If it wasn't for my father always repeating 'I am not raising a housewife!' and 'failure is not an option for you!' I don't know how I would be today.  God Bless my father  So I honestly believe a daughter needs her father and a son needs his mother. Am I making sense? A fact is kids need strong role models in their lives. How we are as adult is an example of how we were raised. Honestly speaking I sometimes wonder how these women think or even I would like to view the world the way they see it even for 10 minutes only. I don't think I will be able to handle it for more than 10 minutes.

I think this whole single parent or baby's daddy thing is a whole vicious cycle that needs to end at some point. Someone needs to break the chain. These women don't know any better I guess than living on the doll and having an excuse of a husband. I would say their behavior has a lot to do with their up bringing and the type of parental guidance or lack of parental guidance they had.

Mothers can raise a son but can't raise him into being a man.

There are certain lessons only a man can teach a son.
such as? I would like to see the lessons... do tell. Look I am messing with you.. I have seen women that raised boys on their own and not because they were divorced but they were widows and Mashallah they have done a great job. These boys, well men now are actually alot better than those that had a father present. So my dear easy on judging mothers.

Foxxy,

There are always exceptions. But I do know that the boys here don't fear a mother like a father.

My nephews whose father (AUN) passed many years ago behave differently when I tell them to do something that their mother has already told them to do. They know that I am not kidding and will deliver the on my threats.

So to save our young boys, we need to all be better role models for them and take care of them.

i agree with you AbdiWahab252. mothers can only raise their sons up untill the age of 7. after that is the fathers responsibility. he supposed to teach he's son how to be a man, how to take care of the family and take over the father's responsibilites. its shame whats happening to our community. we have too many single mothers in somali community. my worry is where are the fathers? how come so many somali mothers are struggling? :( :?
