Haddad, that actually pretty cool work around but I don't think the system will actually boot up that point. Its right off the bat that the lock comes up. btw hows Knoppix, i've actually just wiped my off the Ubuntu, trying to install the newer one Ubuntu Ultimate.

Archlinux is my main distro, though I try and test new distros from time to time. Knoppix is as dependable as it used to be. I suggested Knoppix for this problem, because it's suitable for newbies or people who have never used Linux before. I actually downloaded and tested the latest Knoppix today.




You suggested the system wouldn't boot and lock up. Is it a BIOS problem?

Haddad it looks pretty good, maybe i'll try that next. My problem is I lack commands skills so i'm always looking for the easy way out. Simple Linux GUI at all times. I've tried Suse, Mandriva, Xandros and Ubuntu. So far I only like Suse and Ubuntu and I should try Knoppix next. With MJ system, i've seen that b4 and it isn't a bios issue at all. Its a weird error that comes up on HP and Compaq system when the HD is damaged.
