Eritrea could barely handle the 80 000 eritreans deported from Ethiopia and might i add many eritreans from Sudan have already returned but most still are in Sudan...Thirdly the jeberti are also tigrinya pepole but who practice islamic faith...its sad how you are jealous of a nation that is at peace among its different tribes rather than being happy and perhaps learn something from it...

If you look at conscripts and activity, Ethiopia and Eritrea can probably top the list because they are states built on tribal feudalism and warfare. But Ethiopia and Eritrea have some of the worst hardware and training in Africa. Also the most underfed and undisciplined army as well.

I think we should judge by expenditure, not size.

The list goes like this:

1. South Africa
2. Egypt
3. Algeria
4. Morocco
5. Libya


My personal list goes like this:

1. Egypt
2. South Africa
3. Nigeria
4. Algeria
5. Angola

dude so you mean the more financial crisis in Eritrea the more they will be forced to kick out civilians in Eritrea just to be able to suport the nation.
Its the duty of a nation to accept its citizens since those 1.5 million are Eritreans they should be returned to Eritrea.

Actually Eritrea has excellent training/discipline for its conscripts (how else could they take on Ethiopia with its 15 vs 1 ratio) but you are right about the hardware though it is very poor...Other than that I pretty much agree with your list...the North African nations along with South Africa have the most powerful armies in Africa...
