I'd love for the family to go to Somalia. I have been pushing him for years to go there. We were gonna go but his relatives there told him that it would not be a safe place for me and the kids. They were worried that we would be in danger because I am western. Mohamed has never experienced violence or anything because he left Somalia 2 months before the war started.

You're much better off staying away from Mogadishu/Benadir area as I'd say 80% of heavy fighting happens in that area and the places that surround it

you are better off going to Kenya or Northern Somalia

its important to know so we can help you regarding culture

He is from Mogadishu. The only one I know is called marehan (sorry about the spelling)
Tammy,

you can tell which sub-clan of Mareehaan your husband comes from by looking at his teeth. If he has small teeth, He is from ilka yar sbu-clan

Do you purposely pretend to be slow or are you seriously this retarded? Her husband is Somali, so he can teach HER and the kids the language. It would benefit the entire family. Plus, she already mentioned that she has taken to Somali clothes and cuisine.

Someone has been smoking trees...those kids are born and bred in Canada

yes, but islam does not tell us to deny our roots

the kids SHOULD already be taught Islam and identity as a Muslim, but they need to know their roots...

like the old saying "if you don't know where you coming from, you don't know where you are going" or something along those lines

Fah, I meant as in their "white" culture cus they are still very young from the pictures and dont know much, for instance the mother could be from Italian-Canadian descend, so will she deny them that part and raise em as full somali? etc, I didnt mean it as u understood it.
