Hawiye, Irir, and Samaale are fake.
Hiraab might actually have been a realistic ancestor, but I doubt it as well.

Re: The Origin Of the Hawiye Tribe( not qabil thread)
This disagrees with traditional ancestries and most orthodox Abtiris beyond Hawiye, which go:
Hawiye Irir Raam Naaj al-Samaale
Samaale in turn is traditionally descended from:
Hiil Waliid Looxaan Xaashi, who is also the father of Sasabe or Sabe, ancestor of Digil and Mirifle.
Thus all Somalis are "Xaashiye".
The first generation of Somalis to be nominal Muslims was probably Irir, around the late 10th century, about 300 years after the conquest of the East African Coast by the Caliphate. The rest of Samaale converted later and some, like the Rendille, never become Muslims at all due to their isolation.

It's a very obscure fact, but one of very great importance. The Caliphate invaded the coast of Axum in 640 CE, and by the 8th century documents show that their governors based in Zeila ruled from Massawa to Mogadishu. While the misconception is that the Caliphate only ruled over Zeila, Axumite records state that they lost the entire coast to the Caliphate.abakar20 wrote:james, what caliphate on east africa?
THIS is where the Arab patriarchs come from. Darood, Yuusuf al-Kawnayn and Sheikh Isaaq were all probably governors appointed by the Caliph of Damascus and later Baghdad. In fact, the ancestor of Darood, Muhammad ibn Aqil, may have been part of the original invading force in 640 CE.
The Abbasid Caliphate that succeeded the Ummayad Caliphate was not as strong and unifying, and after the 10th century a lot of regions became ruled by the Abbasids in name only.
The destruction of the Abbasids in 1258 was likely what prompted both Umar and Fakr ad-Din to form their own states. It was during the 13th century that Fakr ad-Din founded (or rather declared the independence of) Mogadishu, and Umar Walasma seized the highlands from Shoa and declared the Sultanate of Ifat.

Re: The Origin Of the Hawiye Tribe( not qabil thread)
Evidence of Caliphate rule of Somalia is quite comprehensive.
For instance, Mogadishu rebelled in 189 AH (811 CE) against Harun al-Rashid and refused to pay him taxes, a rebellion he put down. Zeila in the 10th century was still a majority Christian town, but was the capital of the Abbasid administration in the north (Mogadishu being the capital of their southern domains).
In fact, there are records of Abbasid rule as far south as Kilwa Kisiwani.
