I use to until i was 13 and got my first contact's. I think i may have broken or lost over a 100 glasses in my life time. 
I remember sometimes i would loose them on purpose just because i wanted a new one and once i saw got tired of em i asked for contacts and it took my parents 3 months. i get my new contact's every 6 week's or i would go blind.

Dude, you should have added a poll to this topic. It would been real nice to see it numbers and such, with the Som-net peoples. 
Admin, and Black velvet: About the lasik. $450-500? Really? Its def. gotta be per eye, tho, right? It wasn't a year or two ago when it was at a whopping 1k' or so. Either the tech's really keeping up, or more Quacks are out for a bargain. lol. (Hoping for the former rather than the latter.) I already know a coupla people who have done this. Works like magic, they've said. No more sloppy contacts or glasses to carry around, for sure. An interesting fact tho...I hear if you do it at a younger age, by the time you hit your late forties, you'd still be in need of "reading" glasses to see smaller print. It doesn't guarantee a 20/20 vision forever, as the muscles loosen up a bit over time. Good for Nearsightedness, not so much farsightedness.
I'd def. wait for another 5 years or so to see the effect on Generation X, before I'd go for it. Better to be safe than say...Blind? lol.

yeah i do ....i took it b4 two years...the doc said its the monitor of da computer that killin ma eyez man ma left eye is da worst the right one is ok

Oh yeah, am totally blind sans my glasses or contacts.
I too thought about the laser surgery, but the laser procedure is still in it's infancy and the long term effects are not known yet. And I would hate to lose my sight before I die.

lol I just put up the poll now. I'm wondering if I should vote yes or no..they have been prescribed but I don't think I need them
