As for Degodiye, they live in Wajer district where they make up less than half the population of the district. There are more Garres than the combined population of Degodiye and Muralle in NFD. how comes daarod people live/lived in such large numbers in isaaq major cities like hargeisa, burco, berbera? I mean I know people intermarry and mix and lots of isaaqs lived in xamar and other parts of somalia with daarods and hawiyes but it seems a disproportionate amount of daarods come from isaaq cities like hargeisa, burco, berbara than vice versa. I have never met an isaaq from for example kismayo or bossaso a majority daarod city..

I heard 2 versions
1. They were displaced by the heavy defeat they suffered during the dervish wars
2. That they were settled there by the afweyne regime..

I wonder which is the true version

The larger cities, Hargaisa built by the British and Mogdishu built by the Italians and the last regime, were not traditionally darood cities and somalis mostly being nomads, they always flocked to the bigger cities for employment and better life. Isaaqs had Hargaisa so they didn't need to move and the same with hawiyes having mogdishu. Even to this day, most young daroods, especially those that were born in mogdishu, see it as their hometown and plan to invest there.

yes dagoodiye are Hawiye they are the gugundhabe Hawiye. murule is jiidle, and dagoodiye saransoor is jabade.

anyway look at this map



that region is shared between dagodiye murule ajuran garre and ogaden. no clan can fully claim it.
