The larger cities, Hargaisa built by the British and Mogdishu built by the Italians and the last regime, were not traditionally darood cities and somalis mostly being nomads, they always flocked to the bigger cities for employment and better life. Isaaqs had Hargaisa so they didn't need to move and the same with hawiyes having mogdishu. I have never met an isaaq from for example kismayo or bossaso a majority daarod city..

1. They were displaced by the heavy defeat they suffered during the dervish wars
2. That they were settled there by the afweyne regime..
