Lol. During qaxi we took a small plane from Kismayo to Mombasa.. 18 of us or maybe 20..
it was one of those planes who used to bring the jaad to Ksmayo..I think it was an 8 seater at max..
But believe me, it was the best ride of my life at that particular moment..
given that thousands were taking small boats and 100s of them were being drowned as a result.

I know things are different now, but when ppl have less choices.. they adapt to and accept whats available.

I once flew from Hargeisa to Bosaso, a 35 min flight over some very cool mountains.

Only 8 passengers including me and 4 crew members.

It felt like being on a private jet, best flight ever.

ppl,

did ur flight also have a jaad-section in the back of the plane? one of the flight attendants would have jaad and together with some colleagues and some passengers, they would chill in the back of the plane and sleep till they reach destination.

is that a standard thing? they'd block families and girls from access to the toilet b/c 3 guys were sleeping against the toilet door.

That is STRAIGHT up bullshit, maybe 10 or 5 years ago. Lately they have been more 'professional'.

The only things Daallo are still known for doing frequently is just changing there entire schedule out of the blue without informing people that booked weeks or months ahead, never showing up on time and people/seets sometimes don't match.

Oh yeah and last but NOT least, they pack the plane ~15 min before take off and just wait for ~15 min in the burning hot airstrips of Bosaso, Hargeisa or Djibouti and it can get up to 50 degrees Celsius inside the plane, the entire plane turns in a swimming pool of peoples sweat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never heard of Daallo trafficking jaad, there are special flights for that from private companies.

dawwa, reread what I wrote dude, I didn't say anything about jaad trafficking, and when I flew to and from Somalia was 5 years ago and not with Daalo, but with Gallad airlines.

my flight back to dubai was the worst, we were first taken from gaalkacyo to berbera by gellad airlines, and landed there while passengers taken from hargeisa by star african airlines were waiting for us in the terminal. gellad and star african had rented a big sudanese airjet together.

when we arrived, the plane was ready and we had to sit and wait, suddenly we see the somalilanders storming out of the terminal and running to the airjet, the gellad flight attendant saw that and screamed like it was WAR, orda waryaada, boosaska baa laydinka boobaya!! then we all started running too, odayaasha iyo islaamaha xitaa, and then we arrived at the plane at the same time and chaos started, women were crying, the flight attendants from gellad and star african were punching and kicking each other, kids were dragged into the plane like dolls...crazy! it was puntland versus somaliland, but at the end of the day, everybody got in the plane, but apparently they won, b/c dudes from gaalkacyo were sitting in the toilet on top of each other...

I think I flew over 25 times with Daallo, even lost track.

Never seen people standing while the plane was flying other than crew members or people in toilets that's non-existence, maybe in the early days but not now.

amethyst, lol, it was a 6 hour flight, but the food was the best tho! baasto with either biskeeti or digaag.

everybody got a meal and they gave all the younger guys, 2 to 3 extra meals, and besides all the chaos, the mood in the plane was happy, this old man was giving us all a show: reciting poetry and telling us funny somali stories. prolly the most special trip ever.
