The rest of you guys, do NOT misconstrue my statement. This is a serious disease and doesn't call for faan faan iyo heblaayo. I said a scientific fact not anything to put down anyone or the likes. Besides the percentage points those regions are higher then the south is really marginal and not sizable by any nature however even a single person with this disease is a serious problem so that is why they highlight it.

what difference does it make that Ethiopians troops were or were not in puntland? isnt puntland part of Somalia..Ethiopian troops were in Somalia..therefore were in puntland as well.

The current relatively low HIV/AIDS prevalence in Somalia provides an important opportunity for multi-sectoral interventions to prevent a
major HIV/AIDS epidemic from emerging in Somalia. The first HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) sero-prevalence
survey conducted in 2004 found a mean prevalence rate among women attending anti-natal care (ANC) in Somalia of 0.9%
(1.4% in Somaliland, 1.0% in Puntland and 0.6% in South-Central). This is low compared to figures in neighbouring countries: Kenya –
6.1%, Ethiopia – 4.4% and Djibouti - 2.9%. Yet it still remains to be established what stage the HIV/AIDS epidemic has reached in
Somalia. A second round of ANC sero-prevalence survey underway will help reveal more crucial information; it could be that the survey
reveals not a generalised epidemic but a more concentrated epidemic amongst particularly vulnerable and/or at risk groups.

Its just AMAZING reading somalineters discuss complex foreign topics like HIV/AIDS. Its like Britney spears out of the blue discussing rocket science or the genome geneology of the ebola virus and its link to chimp mutiny. The most hilarious part was just reading Vo--acting 'all knowledgeable' in this subject of AIDS coming from homosexuality. I mean, he is right by all account- and the blacks do actually have a high number of 'Down lows' something that Vo aka Qansa evidentally is pretty aware of, given his somalinet confession on the forum of his knowledge of black 'thug gay bottoms'.

The reality is AIDS exists. Sexuality has something major to do with the disease.Especially homosexuality. And i do believe it was primarily a gay disease, but not anymore. ALl third world countries have been affected, severely. And the majority of the people there are not gay.
