Inshallah Maakhiris gain your mind frame back home. Somalia died in 88 and Maakhir fell into a coma in 59.
Lights out Somalia and the birth of a secular Maakhir is near.

Long Live Maakhir

AW, I suggest you stop pointing fingers at the wrong places and just deal with it, if hutu didn't take part in destroying the former government, things might have been different today, all that nonsense and nothing to show for.

hyperactive,

Everyone should adjust & settle in wherever they are and enjoy their lives. If Somalia works itself out good, if not, then it shouldn't be the end of the world. My goal is to make whatever money I can and move to a Muslim country and die there, I'm open to anywhere from Malaysia/Indonesia to Sudan, West Africa, even the Gulf states. All that matters is that we die in Muslim land, it doesn't have to be Somalia.
100% agree with you.
that's one of reasons, idont want to mary somali woman.
i want de-attach[if that's a word] my self somaliness and my kids' mother to be some thing else.
so wont be even be somalis after 2 generation.
this is too much to hadle, being somali is embbarassment.

The former government became too corrupt, had its hands too much in the economy and Somalia could never progress with that model. It was doomed to fail especially with the debt that Somalia had gotten, the problem is that the people who came AFTER IT...didn't have a COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE WHOLE OF SOMALIA and thats the problem with Somalia today.

warya, NO ONE is saying you have to be ashamed to be Somali. There is nothing wrong with being a Somali, its just that our homeland and the elites who have controlled the situation have FAILED the people.

hyper, if you feel ashamed of where you come from i.e. your roots, people won't respect you. I'm serious. NEVER feel ashamed to be called a Somali and don't be so warped up about back home as if it is your fault.

Take a chill pill.

That is because you started thinking petty sxb and I say that to you as a person who considers you cyber older brother. That is petty and selfish thinking! To be honest, except for three little kids my late grandfather sired in Beled-Xaawo in the 90's I have zero (a big 0000) close, close relations in Somalia. So why am I affected? Why do I care and talk about Somalia? Because waxaa laygu so koriyey with the mindset inaan SOMALIA wax u baranayo. When I was sent to school by my parents, it wasn't go and get a good job and mustaqbal fiican yeelo raising your kids in the 'burb and driving newest BMW and vacationing around the world. I was raised with DALKAAGA baa u maqantahay, DADKAAGA baad u maqantahay. I may have my moments calling the place Zoomaaliya or talking about my problems understanding them when I went back but the reality is dalkaas iyo dadkaas baan u maqanahay. Innocent mothers, children, elderly, of my own people that I would mistake for my own mom ama ayeeyo if I saw them on the street. If an innocent, sheltered suburban upper middle class white American girl can get bulldozed over by the Israeli military standing up for foreign Muslim Palestinians half away across the world how could you even put forward such petty and selfish thinking.

I will leave you with one thing since diinta yaqaan baad tahay, the prophet said "YOU ARE NOT OF MY PEOPPLE TILL YOU WANT FOR YOUR BROTHER WHAT YOU WANT FOR YOURSELF".

Adeer, sidaas waa qalad! Dadkaada iyo ehelkaada weligaa ha gooyin. Laakiin, Soomaaliya ha u hami qaadin. Ka daneeyso and leave the rest to Ilaah to sort out. Don't let it be something you plan on with high hopes, because nothing is guranteed and it will only disappoint you. Ka tasho Soomaaliya, naftaada ku tasho. That's my policy.
