Puntland was part of the Italian Somaliland so if they declared secession no one would take it serious as they have no historical basis

Somaliland has a historical basis, but the world still hasn't recognized it

First of all, Puntland do trades with neighboring Arab countries; They import all different kind of meats and export most of other goods. Also not mention there is promising developments of oil being drilled in the North.

All the South has is fertile lands, and we all know they are too lazy to work hard and produce something benefit them. Only Bantu people work hard on plantation and the rest of them are dirt poor who depend on diaspora folks for support

to be honest - puntland has the smallest amount of resources - there only hope is if they can find Enough Oil but whatsoever - they do not have any fertile lands - maybe they just have 5 or 10 percent fertile lands and useful lands - the rest is dersert to be honest-

Besides livestock, what does Puntland export? small minerals? there is no industry anywhere in Somalia bro

The South has livestock as well.

There is also oil in the south. My awoowe was part of expeditions all over Somalia when private companies could operate back in the 60s... mineral examinations showed that there are substantial deposits even as far as Marka....Puntland is not the only place with oil...Somaliland has it... the whole damn peninsula has signs of it.

You're right, Somalis are too lazy to farm, only the minority groups know how to but Somalis will need to for their own survival.

All of the Somalis import, they don't export anything other than their livestock.

Puntland has some fertile land, but the majority is desert. Puntland has enjoyed peace and the people being able to have a free reign on their economy in the absence of a huge centralized government with its hands all over the economy. The same is true with Somaliland, which is why more progress has happened.

MJ Pride, even with all of that... the whole place is still a a Third World backwater and more progress can be made with cooperation instead of isolation. And politics really gets in the way of progress for our people.

The south and somaliland both have fertile lands but..the south gets money from un and also food aid..as of right now 1 million people need food and might starve thats aside from the rest of the popultaion in the area..Neither somaliland nor somalia are self sufficient when it comes to food..remember this is africa were speaking of.
