For those of you saying he can't be compared to Jordan....why not? Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player in history...but that doesn't mean he always will be. Even though Jordan was Jordan, i think even he is getting over-rated and some people have this perception that it's impossible for any player to ever be better than Jordan, even if that basketball player IS better than Jordan. I'm not saying Lebron is there yet...but dude is only in his SIXTH season, and he's already putting up monster numbers like the other #23. The way he's headed, i think he'll be better than Jordan when his career is over...all he needs is a couple of rings, and the discussion will be fully legit. So far, he's getting off to a better start than Jordan did in his first couple seasons.

In 6 seasons, he's already done BIG things:

NBA MVP
NBA Eastern Conference Champion
2-time NBA All-Star Game MVP
3-time NBA First-team
1-time NBA All-Defensive First Team
5-time NBA All-Star
5-time All-NBA
Olympic Gold Medal Champion
NBA regular season leader in points per game
NBA regular season leader in field goals made
NBA regular season leader in free throws made
NBA regular season leader in minutes played
NBA regular season leader in triple-doubles
NBA regular season leader in traditional three-point plays

One of three players in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in their rookie season (the other 2 are Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan)
One of five players in NBA history to average over 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in a season (the other 4 are Oscar Robertson, John Havlicek, Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan)
One of four players in NBA history to average at least 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in a season (the other 3 are Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Michael Jordan)
One of two players in NBA history to average at least 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for five consecutive seasons (the other is Oscar Robertson)
One of two players in NBA history to post at least 2000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a season for at least four times (the other is Oscar Robertson)
One of three players in NBA history to average at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists in a postseason series (the other 2 are Oscar Robertson and Larry Bird)
One of two players in NBA history to win the NBA Player of the Month Award four times in one season (the other is Kevin Garnett)
One of four players in NBA history to lead their team in all five major statistical categories (total points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals) in a season (the other 3 are Dave Cowens, Scottie Pippen and Kevin Garnett)
2nd place all-time for consecutive 20-point games to start a playoff career with 19 games in a row (behind only Kareem Abdul Jabar)
Most consecutive points scored for a team in a playoff game with 25 straight points.

Youngest player to be named NBA Most Valuable Player since Moses Malone in 1979
Youngest player to be named NBA Rookie of the Year
Youngest player to record a triple-double
Youngest player to score 30 points in a game
Youngest player to score 40 points in a game
Youngest player to score 50 points in a game
Youngest player to score 2,000 points in a season
Youngest player to average 30 points per game in a season
Youngest player to be awarded All-NBA honors
Youngest player to be named to the All-NBA first team
Youngest player to win an All-Star Game MVP
Youngest player to reach:
1,000 points
2,000 points
3,000 points
4,000 points
5,000 points
6,000 points

How's anyone gonna say he can't be compared to Jordan? When he hangs up his jersey and it's retired, the question is probably gonna be: Can Jordan be compared to Lebron?

Exactly!!.

He does seem to have the potantial..but will he able to do it? lucky enough to do it? not get hurt in the process..physically and/or psychologically??

All of these are unknowns..therefore my initial analysis stands.

PS. I (personally)am not fixated on an sports icon..if anything I like to see and enjoy someone who is better than Jordan..
Just like we all(most of us anyways) enjoyed Maradonna after Pele.. who we never saw play. and the Ronaldos, the Zidanes etc etc.

to be honest with you, get the fuck outta my thread.

Cawar, true...i'm saying, if he's as healthy as Jordan was, he'll definitely be in his class. Maybe above it, who knows.

Lebron is not in his prime yet so we have no idea how good he will be, but if he played with Jordan at his best and Lebron right now MJ would get him...so it's hard to assess...but u gotta remember lebron hasn't got those commercials and sponsors and stuff the way mj had it.. But Jordan is the best finisher in the NBA and better interior player bar none. Jordan is the better shooter LeBron might have something on him with 3pt shooting, but not that much. LeBron will never be the defender Jordan was...Lebron has just 3inch height n power over jordan...Mj is the greatest baller to live

Sxb Lebron was given almost a hundred million before he even stepped foot on an NBA court...that's unheard of. Not only that, but he was the most hyped player ever to enter the NBA, and he actually lived up to that hype. At the same time, it's not even a debate if we're talking about Lebron now and Jordan at his prime cuz Lebron ain't even at his prime yet. I'm not saying he's better than Jordan, but if u look at what he's accomplished so far and Jordan in his first 6 seasons, u gotta give it to Lebron. Who knows what he'll be after another 6 seasons...i'm just saying, the way he's playing the game, it ain't unimagineable that he'll surpass Jordan when it's all said and done.
