I see That kind of Shurbad is really loaded It cooks for a while even with pressure cooker..The meat should be like "mudhuudhukh" and it has all kinds of spices...vinegar is always added and lemon etc etc..But strangely enough in our family this kind of Shurbad is mostly used in the Ramadan...as it is very heavy But I agree with you it is really yummy..Some people use a whole chicken instead of the lamb/goat meat..

We Somalis lack the knowledge and the habit of eating good food that was available in our country..People went hungry even though food was abundant

I cooked the hilib separately, and added all the spices, maraq dijaaj, xawaaji, all that kind of stuff, originally I attended to make bariis, but changed my mind the last minute, and decided to use the maraq for shurbad, I filtered and only used the maraq part, the flavour and the spicy taste was still there, so it turned out really good and khafiif personally I don't like eating meat at nigh.
