in terms of wealth how much would those number of camels be worth in todays money you recon?
but historically how much would they be offered at that time and keeping inflation in mind how much how a wealth would they have accumulated
in terms of wealth how much would those number of camels be worth in todays money you recon?
1. Talxe (Mareexaan) - 167,000 Camels
2. Bartire (Absame) - 93,000 Camels
3. Cawliyahan (Absame) - 50,000 Camels
4. Clans living around the coast (Bajuuni) - 5,000 Camels
Total Camels - 315,000
Even if (Bartire, Cawliyahan and Bajuuni) combined their stock (148,000), Talxe remains the top holder.
167000*$973=162491000 that would be the price they would get if they sold that amount of camels in todays marketA sturdy male with a life expectancy of 60-80 years now fetches up to Rs40,000 ($973),http://www.rediff.com/money/2008/may/03camel.htm

A single camel is worth 10 million Somali shillings which means 100 Somali camels are about 45K U.S dollars.
167,000 camels divided into batchs of 100's equals 1670.
1670 X 45,000 = $75,150,000
Talxe's camels would be worth three quarters of a $100 million U.S dollars

imagen if they cut out the middel man an started to set up factories to slouter, package camel meat and milk and ship it to the middel east, and you know somalis are the once that controll the international camel trade and they are the once that set the prices
these people need to settle down in little hamlets with one camel factory providing employment for the locals

Ogaden and Camels.....sheegadu halkaasay ku dhamaatay, un-matched in this Category, Ogaden has tried many things, even during its invasion of Wamo, they used their newly acquired sub-ordinate's(galla) to try farming for them....Voltage those figure's dont represent cawliyahan and bartire's overall camel holdings, Jubba area, but i still wouldnt trust those figure's.

Once again Marexaan insecurity is evident here. Look at these nut cases and how they always compare themselves to other people. They will copy and paste anything that has word marexaan in it to prove a point. Pathetic.
