You got offended by an Egyptian? A man WHO has had the exact same leader for nearly 28 years? Whose leader willingly blocks food and access from their own kind without protest? We Somalis might be conflicted, but at least we can look at ourselves and say we aren't modern day slaves.

Voltage wrote:BTW I disagree with you guys on "degrees of Americna". We just got a Black president whose father was a Kenyan exchange student, and a former president on some high profile dancing with a genocidal dictator to free two Korean Americans who look and speak just like the people they were freed from. I have traveled a number of times and even abroad since the whole thing came out and I get treated with nothing but respect and courtesy by the Customs in the states. It is about sharci and if you carry that passport, no one has more rights than you who carries it by the law. Maybe the Canadians are different with steven harper as prime minister but the U.S is not and it has nothing to do with your country of origin cuz in my passport it says in capitalized letters Country of Origin: SOMALIA.
Sxb Barack Obama wasn't elected, he was SELECTED...so that the establishment could argue "well hold on there little nigger babies, haven't you been following the news? We just got a Black president whose father was a Kenyan exchange student so how could we be racist or discriminatory?!". The fact that all men are treated as if they're created equal (once they're US Citizens) and are endowed with by their Creator with the inalienable rights to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" are NOT truths I hold "self-evident"...they're conditional upon what kind of American you are, the white kind or "the rest". All those "you are now an American citizen and are afforded the same rights as any other American citizen" are red-tape answers that are procedura, lakiin it ain't hard to tell that waa iska hadal. All that PR is PR.

Fah, and how would I explain why I'm black...since there's a high probability he noticed it when he looked at me

Alluring, that's beside the point...at the time, he had a gun on his hip and I didn't. Or else I woulda mentioned Hosni Mubarak's infamous deal with the Yahuud and how he sold out quicker than a ball game at Rucker Park.

The difference between Canada and the US is that the bureaucracy is made up of mostly White men and few white women and because of the bilingualism requirement for government jobs, many come from French Canada. As a result, you have a lot of ethnocentric attitudes. I remember once, going to a DFAIT recruitment campaign at my university and the officers there where from a small town in quebec.
