So Im planing a wedding shower....and I have NO IDEA how to go about it - in a somali way.

Should I have a dirac thing or should I not care?
Is it better to have it a house (we have a big house..mom n dads) or a banquet hall/gofl resort?
Should I have catering or pot luck...

Ive been to non-somali wedding showers before...but since my cousin is somali...i dunno if the rules are different...

Cost is really not an issue...but getting it done is!

do we even have wedding showers in our culture!? it depends what ur cousin wants innit. (im thinkin this is show u organising for ur cuz?) but if u going to plan like the western way,
heres fee ideas:
talk about what type of shower the bride-to-be would prefer. this my include include a couples cocktail party, a midday luncheon or tea, or a shower for specific items such as lingerie, linen or kitchen items.
plan games, prizes, food, drinks and decorations.
menu should be finger food recipes that can be enjoyed while guests walk around socializing with one another
remeber not invite guests to the shower who have not been invited to the wedding.
decide whether the shower will be traditional girls only event or a couples party.
dont forget the decorations as that will be the most important thing for setting the stage for your event.

Well the wedding shower is kind of a surprise...she knows theres one..but she doenst know the day or whats invovled...which is the fun part of it.
Shes more traditional than me...but she still has western-ish qualities.
I have the food taken care of -all her fav apps.
I have the guest list ( I stole her phone for like two hours and jotted down names lol)
Its going to be girls only....Im gonna get her man to come in at the end to give them a gift from everyone (since theres no such thing as a rehersal party and I prolly wont get to it at the wedding itself)
