I was in Philly one time and met some members of the NOI, confusing individuals yo. But some have expanded their beliefs beyond Elijah Muhammad and company.

They do that because they say the blood of hussain and ali touched the ground, so by doing that their head won't touch the ground during sujuud, and yes it is bidcah!

The shica started during the fightings bewteen cali and mucaawiyah radiyuallaahu canhumaa. Those who supported cali were called the shica (group) of cali. But there was a man who was called cabdullah ibn saba who was jew(and said he embraced the islam) he brought new ideas, such as cali is better than abu bakr and cumar. The saxaaba (including cali) unanimous agreed that abu bakr was the best among the saxaaba, followed bu cumar followed bu cuthmaan.

This cabdullah ibn saba was exiled by cali for his strange innovation. Abdullah ibn saba continued his call to his bidca, he choosed places were there the saxaba were present, because they would refute his bidcah. So settled in areas where there wasn't a single saxaabi and spread his innovation to the ignorants.

The shica are not all the same, u have the raafida (who are the worst), there ismailiyyah ( who belive in reincarnation), fatimiyyah and zaydiyyah

The raafidah aka the twelver, believe:1 Jibriil made a fault by revealing the revelation to muxammed saw instead of cali 2: all the saxaaba of the Prophet became apostate excpt five 3.The quran has mistakes 4. They believe in 12 imaams (hence the name twelvers or ithnaa cashariyyah in arabic) to whom they affirm divine attributes 5. the quraan which we have is not complete, they have another version which is 2/3 of the whole revelation, so our (the true ) quran is according to them 1/3 of the revelation. They say 2/3 of they revelation was revealed to fatimah after the death of the prophet. (Strange, 1/3 the quraan was during a period of 23 revealed to the prophet, while 2/3 of the revalation was send down during a period of 6 months, because fatimah died 6 months after the Prophet.)

Alot of the culemaa believe, based on their caqiidah, that they are not muslims. Imaam bukhaari was asked about praying behind a shica imaam his answer was: I don't see a difference between praying behind a shici and praying behind a christian or a jew!!!

And imaam shafici said:lam araa ixdaa ashhurin bi zuuri minal raafidah, the rafidah are the biggest liars of mankind
go to this site http://www.fatwa-onlineclick on Deviant groups and choose raafidah

let it be those that have not yet be contaminated by the saudi vodka, ass winkly, USA lover, prophet hater be the judge.
The above are just based on no foundation in the koran or in the prophet Mohamed (PUH) narration.

but here are prophet saying validated by all ulema.

Sunni references:
(1) Fadha'il al-Sahaba, by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, v2, p655
(2) Hilyatul Awliyaa, by Abu Nu'aym, v4, p329
(3) Tarikh, by al-Khateeb al-Baghdadi, v12, p289
(4) al-Awsat, by al-Tabarani
(5) Majma' al-Zawa'id, by al-Haythami, v10, pp 21-22
(6) al-Darqunti, who said this tradition has been transmitted via numerous
authorities.
(7) al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar Haythami , Ch. 11, section 1, p247

Thus the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) used to say the phrase of "Shia of
Ali". This phrase is not something invented later! Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH&HF) said that the true followers of imam Ali will go to Paradise, and
this is a great felicity.

Also Jabir Ibn Abdillah al-Ansari narrated that:

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) said: "The Shia of Ali are
the real victorious in the day of resurrection/rising"

Sunni references:
- al-Manaqib Ahmad, as mentioned in: - Yanabi al-Mawaddah, by al-Qundoozi all-Hanafi, p62
- Tafsir al-Durr al-Manthoor, by al-Haffidh Jalaluddin al-Suyuti, who quotes
the tradition as follows: "We were with the Holy Prophet when Ali came
towards us. The Holy Prophet said: He and his Shia will aquire salvation
on the day of judgment."
