I know people live in tight quarters and in small family units here in the West .
When I was a kid my mother would have to catch me FIRST before she could beat me up .
My startegy was very simple and very effective .
First ESCAPE then get somebody to speak on your behalf , aunt , uncle , sister , brother .

my mother is very short tempered. i let her have her way ,

Macaaney, Abaayo your mother is your mother- she can shout at you, beat you up, threaten you and yet again all she wants for you -is... nothing but the most excellent in this life and the hereafter!
Sis, best advice I can give you is don’t ever argue back with your mother. I realise this is always easier said than done except it’s really achievable. Despite the fact that she is telling you off, you should always attempt to soothe her... i.e. take her right hand and place it in between both of your hands, look down at all times... And don’t let pride ever get in between you and your waliid, learn how to say sorry/raali ahow more often.

Most importantly abaayo people are all prone to make mistakes including our parents as a result there are times we are wrongfully accused. Yet you must also remember that there is no smoke without fire! Something is triggering her off and whether that ‘something’ is something that you do consciously or unconsciously, intentionally or unintentionally you need to reflect and win her trust back essentially also remember your Hooyo owns you and your life (I seriously mean this) and she wants nothing but the best for you therefore you should give her. nothing but the best of you.

If you were straight, prayed regularly, never went anywhere she wasn't aware of, she knew you had good friends, she would never question you about the few times you are late.
