No dawwa, not in Europe, only in the UK.
I started when i was around 19 from time to time. Then came a time when i did it every single Friday after i got tired of going clubbing every single week. In a way, it's good for our youngsters as this keeps them away from commiting sins. I know countless of boys that chew Friday nights as this was an alternative to being in the clubs and drinking. However, one needs to learn to control himself, once you abuse it your life will go in a downwards spiral.

Qaad does not help you with your studies, especially with revision!
If you would have said that you have chewed while finishing of an assignment, presentation or any other pieces of academic work i would have believed you. The reason it doesn't work during revision is because the stimulant raises awareness for the user, with awareness comes communication, which is the main reason why it's impossible to study for an exam whilst chewing.

Because of your location and the countrys laws making it illegal to consume the stimulant, i'm assuming that you do not have it regularly. When somebody doesn't chew regularly, the after affects (qaadiro) have a much deeper impact. You for instance, will have trouble sleeping as your mind is constantly active thinking of your finances, friends, girls, work etc. You shall become tremendously tired between 11 am and early afternoon if you haven't slept making it virtually impossible for you to stay awake for 30 odd hours. I on the other hand, do not suffer of these after effects anymore simply because i have found ways to prevent these situations and chew more regularly than you, to overcome the above mentioned scenario takes years.

Now my friend, please do tell what other drug you have been using to stay awake.

Ps: It's Friday night 21.11 pm in London, and i'm not chewing

First and for most I am still awake :|

Secondly it's not per se the actual khat itself but "qarabo" the other stuff is too expansive if you know what I mean. I do not know the effects this stuff has on other people but from fresh experience not only does it raises awareness iyo communication but as well as memory.

I flew an airplane high on this stuff this morning I had my best landing, and perfect maneuvers across the blue sky. Should have seen my instructor's face.

Its alright...as long as you don't abuse it...everything in moderation...it becomes a problem when it becomes the reason u neglect ur responsabilities and stuff..

I never seen a sane individual that uses Qaad, all of them have issues. The day I will see mentally fit people using it without consequences is the day I consider it 'normal'.

After chewing ceases, unpleasant after-effects tend to dominate the experience: insomnia, numbness, lack of concentration and low mood. Some chewers also experience unpleasant effects during the chewing process, describing anxiety, tension, restlessness and hypnagogic hallucinations.

Objectively, chewers can be seen to show a range of experiences, from minor reactions to the development of a psychotic illness. Minor reactions include over-talkativeness, overactivity, insomnia, anxiety, irritability, agitation and aggression
