During the course of America's invasion/occupation of Iraq, there were many polls showing some +70% of Americans supporting America's gross injustices against Muslims. +70% is a clear majority. Also, what about your favorite president, Obama, whom you have enthusiastically supported his election, who has escalated and continues America's gross injustices against Muslims?

We oppose them robustly and say ISLAAM IS THE RELIGION OF PEACE, TOLERANCE, FORGIVENESS AND WORSHIP even though there are some groups of Muslims who interpret Islaam the wrong way.

i'm not speaking as a somali per se, i'm speaking as a muslim (for that's what i'm at end of the day).

america shares in the legacy of eruope, it's the legacy of europe. so americans = european people/westerners.

america didn't develop in isolation, it greatly benefited from the various colonizations of their european brothers.

america on its own has blundered/looted the resources/wealth of the ummah like no other (thanks to their puppet regimes and military); the likes of this blunder has never been seen in history before.

america has destroyed/bombed - or is in the process of bombing - many of the regions of the ummah back to the stone age. the cost of this destruction to the ummah in both lives and wealth is incalculable.

in my own country the bastards have twice destroyed any chance of peace along with the chance to develop our economy and country. in early nineties when the bastards acted like cowboys and gave the losing side on the brink of defeat the ability to continue fighting and, by extension, deny us the peace and closure that comes with a clear winner and loser in a war. and obviously in 2006. the cost of the damage done by america and lost, nay, denied opportunity is incalculable to the somali people.

Sure, there's a minority who opposed it, but do they count? I mean, in a Democratic country, a president or official is elected by the majority; how do his opposing candidates and their votes end up? They become irrelevant and forgotten. The same is true with the minority; their voices or protests do not matter for they can change nothing. It's the majority who count since it's their voices that empower their government. If the majority were against injustice, their government won't dare do it.

So you reckon Obama is better than a lot of Muslim leaders? Obama, the one whom those Muslim leaders take orders from? The one who continues to occupy Iraq and Afghanistan? The one whose drones and 1000/2000lbs bombs pulverize innocent families in Muslim countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, etc)? The one whose pressure against the corrupt Pakistani government caused the death of thousands and displacement of millions? The one whose foreign policy is the exact copy of his predecessor? The one who has yet to abolish torture laws and close torture centers? The one who has indicted Khalid Sheik Mohammed to lethal injection before a trial even began? The one who has rewarded corporations and individuals who were complicit in causing the current worldwide recession? Etc.

For the purposes of this thread I will say that I only like America. America has potential. Maybe if me and America exchanged a few e-mails, she sent me her photo and I sent her mine. Maybe if we talked on the phone for hours every single night. Maybe if we agreed to meet up on holiday somewhere netural (like Ecuador). Maybe if we walked on the beach till sunset and danced the Tango till the morning. Maybe if I got to rub suncream on her back. Maybe if we agreed to move in together I will start to love America.
