Are you a personal trainer ?Cinque Mtume wrote:Set yourself a concrete goal Nabeela, preferably within a period of 2/3 months and then also set subgoals for every week or even every session. Just going to the gym, because it's healthy and you want to stay in shape is not enough. Make it fun for yourself. Breaking your own records is fun.
That should keep you motivated. Actually, what do you do when you exercise? What's your training scheme? Maybe I can spot the problem.
What motivates you to exercise??

LOL I'm not taking it down, you just gotta look the other way. Yeah he did say that in a thread to TL when he got accused of covering Voltage's butt.
Anyway, I go to the gym myself and I just know a thing or two. But my advice is more useful to a male audience, I gotta admit. I don't know anything about pilates or aerobics.

I can't remember the last time I did anything aerobic. It just became a chore you know, I don't know where the passion went.

You should lift weights in addition to cardio.

Re: What motivates you to exercise??
I'm dead serious. You'll get more out of it.
Re: What motivates you to exercise??
Than I might turn into this:

Re: What motivates you to exercise??
Nabz,
Lol. Steroids and male hormones did that to that woman, not lifting weights. Its a major misconception, but lifting weights does not have the same effects on men and women. In fact, lifting weights will tone a woman's body and help her turn fat in to muscle. Women have more fat than men, because women need more fat naturally e.g. for child-bearing. But fat is what you need to reduce, fat usually occupies more space than muscle and keeps a person heavy. By lifting weights, you'll be conditioning your body and turning the excess fat cells in to muscle. This doesn't mean you'll look like a muscled dude, it means you'll have a well-toned body; nice abs, nice ceps, etc.
As long as you lift moderate weights, eat right and work on your cardio, you'll be fine. Your long-term goal should be to be healthy & fit. You wanna be so fit that you can out-run your assailant in a dark alley somewhere. Start by joining a gym, divide your days in to cardio and strength training days. Maybe, 3x a week. Do 1/2 an hour on cardio either through aerobics, spinning or walking/jogging. Then stretch before and after. Do some lifting for the next 30 mins. Work on your abs and thighs. Use the abducter machines on your thighs. You can even use the eleptical for a good 30 mins. I see white girls on the eleptical for the whole hour I'm at the gym.
Find your weak areas and work on them. Find a gym partner or join a work-out class. Make it part of your daily routine, no matter what.

Re: What motivates you to exercise??
Nabs stick to your pilates, never pick up weights. There is nothing sexy about a woman with muscles or even cut arms. Your arms should not have definition if you are a woman. Not fat but no definition either.

Pilates

Girls stick with that they'll be good. as long as a girl keeps a flat stomach (no abs) and lack of too much excess fat she's good
