Now, unless you have information about the man’s apostasy I think it is fair to assume he is (still) a Muslim. If we’re agreed on that, we can then move on to his words and see what he’s trying to say...For every denial of rights a woman faces, whether it is not being able to drive a car, go to school, have a fair share of inheritance, marry the man she loves, take part in public decision-making, or simply wear what she chooses, it is always Islam that is put as a tall wall before her. I wonder when Muslim scholars will stop being apologetic and sift the right from the wrong in Islam to give women their right place in society.
Well, he is not saying anything new here. It is the same argument EVERY Muslim has made in his/her life before (you just can’t see it now). Just like some Muslims dispute Al Shabab’s interpretation of the faith and just like Al Shabab question other Muslim’s interpretation of the religion and just like you would question me and I would quiz you, Bashir here is questioning the application of the faith when it comes to women. But (and this is where I was forced to extend him the benefit of the doubt), he does not question it and imply that his way is better (not that he suggested a way to start with), he invites the scholars to have another look at things and clarify matters for all. Is that such a bad thing?
When I first read the article, I got the man’s message but found his delivery somewhat distasteful. But when I read your reply (about him being an enemy of Islam), I saw a clear and living example of what Mr Goth is talking about.
You’re far too hasty, brother. Play the ball, not the man.
Bashir Goth praising Salman Rushdie. "Salman Rushdie is considered to be one of the most illustrious and creative writers of the late 20th century". He even goes further to praise Britain for honoring him. Tries his best to make a case for him and pretty much tells muslims to shut their mouth. Here is the full article.

In almost all his articles he is some way attacking Islam.
Another thing you you must noticed is this man is not only attacking muslims but Islam in general. His whole argument is that Islam should be reformed as stated in the article posted on this same topic.
"In almost every report and study prepared on the situation of women, Muslim and Arab intellectuals fail to mention Islam as part of the problem".
He tries to walk a thin line to confuse the readers. At times he writes of how Islam was practiced before the extremist and at times he attacks Islam itself.
If his disbelief is hidden from you that does not mean that it is hidden from everyone else.
P.S. Im the last person to call someone a kafir without prove because i understand how dangerous that is but this man is not new to us.
