It's common law enforcement agencies torture their own citizens into confessing to crimes they didn't commit. Under torture, anyone would confess to anything in order to stop the torture. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind and confessor, was waterboarded (among other forms of torture) hundreds of times.

And this was done under Obama's watch? Stop re-writing history. This was done by the BUSH admin.

It's a common knowledge that KSM was waterboarded 183 times. SO? He deserved it. His plans took the lives of thousands of innocent people. His hairy ass is now getting three meals a day while the relatives of the victims are still suffering the loss of their lost ones..

I'd rather be waterboarded than beheaded. Though i'm against torture, i'd be ok with it if there's credible info that a new attack might occur. So long as it's not used on every prisoner.

Torture is a US-sponsored systematic practice still inflicted upon Muslims. Obama has expanded the practice. Google for Torture's Loopholes to learn more.

How does a billionaire with an economcis degree= illiterate peasant? See, I don't agree with guy, but I hate it when Somalis on this forum put themselves on a high pedasteel and start giving new meaning to the word illiterate. And it's Osam we did to this with, rather we think in an adunko dhan ka sareyno.

@Bodhi, my point still stands: the man was an extremely wealthy individual who was once investing in the development of the Sudan. The last time I checked he is also a graduate from a university. Illiterate and peasant? Somalis certainly do have lot of pride, wale. But here is something which will make yall happy:
Since Yemen offered few possibilities in those days, my grandfather bravely turned his back on the only land and the only people he had ever known, taking his younger brother, Abdullah, with him to join one of the many camel caravans trekking through the area.

After traveling through the dusty villages and towns of Yemen, they arrived at the port of Aden. From there they sailed a short distance across the Gulf of Aden to Somalia. In Somalia, the two bin Laden boys were employed by a cruel taskmaster, known for his furious outbursts. One day he became so annoyed at my grandfather that he hit him on the head with a heavy stick.

The injury resulted in the loss of sight in one eye. My grandfather and uncle were forced to return to their village until his recovery. The following year they set out once again, this time traveling in the opposite direction, north to Saudi Arabia. I’m sure they were eager to stop at many outposts, but nothing seemed to have the magic they were seeking. The two boys, young and unlettered, lingered only long enough to earn sufficient money to stave off hunger and to continue what must have seemed an endless journey. Something about Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, appealed to my grandfather, because that walled city on the Red Sea marked the end of their arduous voyage.

No. Not because there are no such sources; it won't convince you.

Don't people have the freedom of choice to vote for terrorists? I mean, people have the freedom of choice to vote for Nazis*, Zionists, Aryans, the Republican Party that's responsible for the invasion/occupation of Muslim countries and the genocide/massacre of its population, the Democratic Party that's vigorously continuing the invasion/occupation and genocide/massacre with increased enthusiasm, etc.

US Recants Claims on "High Value" Detainee Abu Zubaydah
Thursday, Apr 1, 2010

The Justice Department has quietly recanted nearly every major claim the Bush administration had made about "high-value" detainee Abu Zubaydah, a Guantanamo prisoner who at one time was said to have planned the 9/11 attacks and was the No. 2 and 3 person in al-Qaeda.

Additionally, Justice has backed away from some of the claims intelligence officials working in the Clinton administration had also leveled against Zubaydah, specifically, that he was directly involved in the planning of the 1998 embassy bombings in East Africa.

Zubaydah's name is redacted in some instances in the 109-page court document the government filed in US District Court in Washington, DC in response to 213 discovery requests Zubaydah's attorneys made in connection with his habeas corpus case, which sought evidence to support, among other Bush administration claims, that Zubaydah was a top al-Qaeda official and close confidant of Osama Bin Laden.

The Justice Department asked the judge presiding over the case to deny virtually every discovery request, explaining, in some instances, that the government no longer relied upon the explosive allegations the Bush administration made about Zubaydah when he was captured and subsequently tortured.

Zubaydah is identified on the first page of the filing by his real name, Zayn Al Abidin Muhammad Husayn. He was the first detainee captured after 9/11 who was subjected to nearly a dozen brutal torture techniques, which included waterboarding, and was the catalyst, the public has been told, behind the Bush administration's "enhanced interrogation" program. Former Vice President ceeb Cheney has publicly admitted that personally approved of Zubaydah's waterboarding.

His torture was videotaped and the tapes later destroyed. The destruction of 90 videotapes of his interrogations is the focus of a high-level criminal investigation being conducted by John Durham, a federal prosecutor appointed special counsel in 2008 by then-Attorney General Michael Mukasey.

I wonder when will the Justice Department recant every major claim the Bush administration made about the alleged mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
