It also requires Western drones and satellites operating 24hours to protect them. The TFG and those "peacekeepers" are confined to a few pockets (Villa Somalia, air/seaport, etc) in Mogadishu and haven't extended their grip even a kilometer more. On the other hand, Al-Shabaab operate a real government with courts, traffic, police, schools, hospitals, etc. Al-Shabaab's strategy is to financially bleed those financing the TFG and AMISOM. Already, the TFG has run out of money and is in disarray, while AMISOM hasn't been paid for months. It's only a matter of time before they pull out, and that will be a painful lesson for those who financed them; having squandered $billions for nothing.

Are you saying that a few handful of AMISOM are more powerful than the tens of thousands of ethiopian troops who were in somalia. The same ethiopian troops that used to guard and assist AMISOM themselves from angry somali mobs,snipers, resistance fighters.
What you have failed to figure out is that, much of the then resistance is now supportive of AMISOM troops as peace-keepers in somalia ever since sheikh shariffs Djibouti ARS endorsed the presence of AMISOM in somalia.
