They shouldn't.. Not in public anyway.
I doubt in a traditional muslim perisan wedding the bride/groom would be kissing and feeding each other let alone having a mixed marriage where the bride is exposed. Iranians living in the west are the worst example of muslims.

I wouldn't be surprised if if their clothes/rings/accessories cost more than 100k

There is no doubt that they are probably rich but it's not about how much was spent, they do this at every wedding; the youghurt, the sugar cane, the mirror, the honey. That is the part I was pointing out.

Yes because it's poetic, they have metaphors and symbolism and depth, they are acting out the promises they are making to one another. Sure as hell beats sitting in a corner for hours watching women jump along to the drum because their qabiil was mentioned.

You see you are an old school farax, I wouldn't expect any less of you. You probably think holding hands is gay unless its with another somali man or taking a walk is stupid unless it's on your way to the marfish and sitting on the grass in the summer and reading a book is something only done by white people. Proper farax mentality.

I would never trade a somali wedding, our bariis is the finest of all! it's also so simple: you come, you eat, you leave. I've been to so many weddings i didn't even know the groom nor the bride, i just happened to be in the neigherbourhood. God bless somali weddings where a stranger is welcomed :som:

You come off as being insecure and brainwashed by western media.I called you an athiest because your saying our culture (which is based on our reigion) is backwards because we dont hold mixed nikkahs or kiss in pubic, stop reading romance novels

And I suppose calling someone a prostitute and an athiest because you disagree with their opinions with regards to culture is in line with Islam?

What a hypocrite.

BlackVelvet wrote:This is a persian nikaax, love the video lakin check out the stuff that is actually laid out at the nikaax. Notice please that the bride is actually present at her own wedding! Why she can't be there when she's getting married according to Somali culture I will never understand. Anyway there is the quran which represents religion/faith in their marriage, the rings represent the promise, the mirror is for the bride to look at herself before the nikaax (this one is weird but I guess you're looking at your single self one more time and being honest with yourself about the decision?). You will notice the sugar cane that the bridesmaids will rub on top of the cloth placed above couples heads, this is to represent sweetening of their relationship. When the sheikh asks them if they do, the girl says "with the permission of my father and mother I do" the guy apparently doesn't need permission. Then they sip bitter youghurt to symbolise sticking through the bad times and they feed each other honey to symbolise enjoying the good times togetehr. Now tell me isn't that the most romantic nikaax ceremony ever! I can't imagine a somali couple feeding each other honey or kissing like that but I think the bride being present will be welcomed progress!

Haye Persian ku qabohee and we will watch your wedding on youtube
