i dont understand what you mean about " it i shocking that an adult black african " ? really, did you really just write that.
maybe in your small world you have been tought that Black african = slave(or history of slavery) well that is not true for every black african, infact its far from the truth, specially with Somalis.
you must think Europeans, Arabs, Hindis, etc were never slaves Lol some are still today, how silly, you remind me of the bimbo racist from "everybody hates cris" and even she is more accurate as she actually deals with a decendant of slaves.
..

back to your main point, Somalis did have slaves, and yes they did enslave each other, and they did have rules for slaves aswell. a slave is a living breathing talking property, one can be proud of their ancestor for being wealthy which can be indicated by the fact they have numerous slaves, but being proud of your ancestors having slaves with an emphasis on "owning another human being" is like people in the prophets muhammeds (scw) being proud of their ancestors drinking alcohol. it is something that is probably Xaram but i am not sure.
what i do know is Islam took a strong stand against Slavery and actually dealt with it from different angles. directly it was encouraged to marry slaves, freeing slaves and taking care of slaves. indirectly, proverty was tackled so slavery would be less.

Can we examine why through humanity history slavery was necessary? Or invented? What is the benefit of it? is it --Human selfishness that is biologically blue printed n them or it just says more about the slaves than their masters. Perhaps, it says more about the weakness of the slaves?

Slavery began with the invention of
humanitarianism...
One tribe would raid another tribe and the typical Isse used to wipe out their targets. Some gadibgursi decided to spare their target tribe and instead of killing them all inherited the responsibilty of carring for the women and children of the tribe they defeated. Soon they realised that these extra civilians served as extra pair of hands when distributed among the victorious tribe...
Slavery is born.
In conclusion slavery was the eariliest seed of
Humanitarianism. Man kind is still evolving Africans a little bit slower then the rest.
Evidence:
-----------
The white race who are considered as the greatest race for humanitarianism is a case example, observe humanitarianism where ever there is poverty among the white race you will find modern form of slavery albanions, bulgarians and hungarians have a modern slavery(prostitution) evident as a form of economically sustaining their population and to accelerate their economic development. They also invented minimum wage

You chased us, we chased you, who cares. It's all nonsense. Nothing more than animals in the wild. It's not about that anymore. I would probably enjoy a Hassan Turki leadership more than you.

Even from simple utilitarian point of view, Oromos should have accepted Islam earlier.
Instead of giving them tirriso (=sheeggato) status and helping them , they would have sold their protege
thus gaining more wealth and power.
Somalis should be grateful to the Waaqeefennaa religion which forbod slavery
and Oromos should kill every Qaallu (=waaqeefenna priest) for outlawing slavery

Snoop do you have a problem with me?
If so you should deal with it because it is coming out all wrong dude. If you accept that Islam stood against slavery then there is no need for a Muslim person to be proud of such a thing. One should be embarrassed on behalf of ones ancestors, if pride is what it induces in you then clearly you do not understand your own point.
As for Africans we know our own history, so what are you talking about? This is not about Europeans or Arabs and their own history cuqdada iska qaad. If you don't know why a Black African should not see owning slaves as something to be proud of then there is really not much for me to say to you is there
SMH you probably think yourself on a different league since "Somalis were never slaves"

You can't be responsible for what your grandparents/ancestors did, it's between them and God.

The idea of owning another human as a slave is rather backward. I am surprised how it was once tolerated but now condemned.
