Why on earth did she agree to this?
Im sorry but she brought it on herself.
This sort of reminds me of my Arab neighbour but i guess its apart of their culture.

According to the deen she has to get her husbands permission to go out or to let people into their home.. but this brother is taking things to an unnecessary level, but he did have the 'decency' to ask her if she was okay with the whole thing before they married.

Like i said she brought all this on her self.

I've always been under the impression that women are never and will never be under our complete control, and when you have a women who his completely submissive is when you should sleep with your eyes open.

Why you ask is because they will never accept that we are right 100% of the time, and the times we are they will think it has to do with them. Wa cajiib dumarka but I rather have a women who loves me and disagrees with me, then a women who listens to everything I say but can not express her love ;)

I think as human beings we should be patient with our spouses and want them to be the way we desire over many many years. And honey is sweeter than vinegar.

PO,

I feel You on a lot of this stuff. The thing is everything comes down to the Guy He has to have personality. I mean, He has to be able to lighten up serious situations, and be smooth enough to convince Her of things without sounding authoritative. Me personally, I don't view Myself anything close to the control freak/manic type. I'd never listen to Her calls, spy on Her, try to find out where she goes, etc. There are some red flags ofcourse, like I can't stand the thought of My Wife going to Shiisha bars, Rawaayads, parties, etc. If She goes out with Her friends though (assuming they're sane) has a tea, chills or whatever, whats the big deal? To each His own though. The way I view it is when You're married, You're gonna be seeing a lot of each other so it behooves both the Guy and the girl to try to keep a cool house, that You don't mind spending a lot of time in 8-)

I don't know anyone who is like that wallahi not here nor Somalia. The women have always shopped a lone, traveled to their families houses whenever they wished because it was so close, small cities. Imagine you get a divorced are you going to be waiting for your brothers, or uncles, or father to take you shopping and other places such as work? I could understand if you just like companionship, but most places I think is pretty safe unless you live in the ghetto.

In your own neighourhood!? Just to go friggin shops?! You must be mad! But when it comes to foreign travel I % understand the hiqma because men are scary when you are a lone woman or in a group of just women. You need a man on your side to protect you from other men, especially if you go to Africa/India/Middle East...the men there are always looking for their next rape victim.
