I am conservative when it comes to foreign policy, man. The Democrats don't get it when it comes to FP. They substitute appeasement for solutions and encourage the raise of extremism. 9/11 happened because Clinton ignored Afghanistan. The Obama Administration is trivializing and ignoring the raise of radicalism in Somalia and Yemen. The Democratic approach to terrorism is fundamentally flawed because it sees it as a law and enforcement issue. It is not. I am a registered democrat and I thought Obama was going to turn the economy by now and that he will be a smart president with regards to his foreign policy. Sadly, he disappoints and even Hillary Clinton can't make much of a difference. If the Republicans field good candidates that are centerists, I will be very open to making the switch.SahanGalbeed wrote:Nonsense ! Twisted care to explain how can voting GOP remedy your frustration with Obama's foreign policy ? Do you want open ended wars in the middle East or are a Ron Paul kinda guy ?

The Afghanistan War is a noble and righteous war. Iraq was a distraction. It will be a lunacy for America to withdraw without winning in Afghanistan.

Clinton was a great president, but his foreign policy was messed up. He abandoned Afghanistan when the Soviets left. He turned tails in Somalia. Watched as Al Qaida established itself in Afghanistan and plotted the attacks of the US Embassies in East Africa, on USS Cole and 9/11. But he was a great domestic president and improved the presidency.Perfect_Order wrote:Twisted_Logic wrote:I am conservative when it comes to foreign policy, man. He hit Pakistan with phony sanctions and looked the other way in Afghanistan. In 1996, he could have supported the anti-Taliban forces, but he didn't. Osama moved from Sudan to Afghanistan under his watch. After the US embassy bombings, he retaliated with some random missile fires. His FP was quite pathetic. The only redeeming aspect of his FP was the Balkan war and the Irish TalksPerfect_Order wrote:Since when was clinton who was elected president in november of 1992 and took office in January of 1993 abandon afghanistan after the soviets left, when soviet union didn't clapse till 1989
