If your idol was such a "genius" as you claim coolpoison he should have known when his time was up instead of waiting for rebels to take over the city and send him to Nigeria.that is what greediness does to people.
Gen Salaad Gabeyre was married to Dalays, who is not only Marehan, reer Diini, reer Kooshin, but reer Xassan Kooshin like Siad practically his cousin.

Hmm let's see. This was a man who served in the Police Carabineri of Italian Somalia rising to be it's Commander, moved to Kenya to get his education, enrolled with the British, got his qualifications, whose charisma and understanding, and multi lingual nature speaking Italian and English had him rising to the position of the Commander of Armed Forces of Somalia by 1966, whose wit and intelligence led him to plan a coup after the death of a president, and saw him outsmarting the rest of his coup co-conspirators who were trying to plan a counter-coup..yet an Iidoor who can barely write English in an internet forum and doesn't know and never learned what complete sentences are can give a verdict on him 40 years later after history has already judged him based on accomplishment?gurey25 wrote:all the members of the src fuked up like the russian revolutionaries fucked up with stalin.
Nearly all of the main men in the army were much more sophisticated and worldly than siad barre,
Besides this, he chose three intellectuals of his tribe, who were secretly working for him in evolving the political system and the future policy. They were spreading his ideas. The chief among them was a well-known named Mohammed Aden who had received his education in Italy and obtained a Doctorate of Pediatrics (Medicine)."
Long Live President Siyaad and May God Bless him

From the beginning the Coup was by Siad and the policy formation on the day after the coup was up to Marehan as Aydiid says in his book:

Go back to chewing your khat.
Not at all. I have always said with all my education and due to come, my understanding of the world, my own personal assumption to be more qualified as a leader in Somalia than most Somali leaders, etc if I had been old enough during Siad's reign, my greatest desire would have been to be the head of his bodyguards. I wasn't alive or old enough then which disappoints me, but I can take some solace in that my abti Abdirizaak who recently died in Saudi Arabia last year and who by the way was married to an Isaaq woman avenged my hungergurey25 wrote:

you may worship him if you like, but this is the man that destroyed somalia.
i would have forgiven him if he handled the ogaden war well, but we all know what happened.
carabineri school..
nobody takes italians seriously when it comes to millitary affairs,
at least adideed went to frunze in moscow after his stint in italy.
