Re: Do we have our version of this woman?
I can think of a few like her namely: Dr. Hawo Abdi, Madina General, Istarliin Farah and Maano Marka. Both Maano and Madina were killed while doing humanatarian work in Somalia. Istarliin Farah fled with her life and Dr. Hawo Abdi lost everyhing to mooryaan masquarading as xisbul Islaam. I attended a ceremony for Dr. Hawo Abdi and her daughter Deqa a few nights ago here in Atlanta. What a hurrowing tale she told. Her compound grew to house 90k refugees and included facilities such as a feeding center, a maternity and nursery ward, an intensive care unit and an operating theater. All of it was looted earlier this year. She operated the compound for over 16 years and was finally forced to leave - suffered a major stroke and had to be rushed to Geneva.
The center is now closed. She said they looted everything including medical supplies, food rations, generators, hospital equipment and even fuel. She was then held her for ransom, and after MSF fled, the xisbul Islaam warlord turned around and demanded that she bring back MSF and re-open the center under his management.

Re: Do we have our version of this woman?
as a Muslim women we should respect and fear Allah first and foremost and since in our religion a woman cannot lead a country, we should what Allah has ordered us.eyes-only wrote:The next Somali president should be a woman. I don't understand why Somali women go around saying 'we want our men to lead us'....come on....why should they be leading us if they are not capable of leading? Plus, Somali women do more for that country than the men who destroyed it. I find it frustrating every time I see some Somali woman complaining about what's going on and saying we need our men to do this and that....if you already know what needs to be done, and if you are the ones pushing them from behind but they are still not moving, why not just step upfront and take over.....I guess some people still belive they're 50% and that it's a sin for them to lead.
and anyway why would any god fearing woman put herself through by leading bunch of animals. is not worth it.

abti im guessing you are refering to Saado Calimalakumod wrote:women have caused the death of so many men.Samatr wrote:Voltage

yes it is truth that women have suffereed dearly in the civil war.
laakin i know of women that have incited the death others. waaligaa naag musanabeysa ma aragtay? that is more lethal AK-47.
and thousands have died due to women inciting violence. with there cries of warya googarad ma guu bixiyaad, tola'ay dhiiglaawe.
everywhere in somalia waxaa taagan nin godob tabanaya and behind him is a woman who never lets him forget it.
