I think the comparison with SL is wrong here. Kurdistan is an autonomous region of Iraq. It should really be compared to Puntland's federal aspirations rather than Somaliland's plans of secession. The picture-loving original poster needs to go have a look at the Iraqi constitution.

Btw if Somaliland had as much oil as Kurdistan our infrustracture would be just as well developedhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SovereigntySovereignty is the quality of having supreme, independent authority over a geographic area, such as a territory.[1][2] It can be found in a power to rule and make law that rests on a political fact for which no purely legal explanation can be provided

Actually if the South gets peace for even two years their will be a huge economic boom, even right now albeit the chokehold by Al shabab the economy is thriving in South Somalia, the people are living well, poverty is at an all time low due to low taxes and good harvesting seasons. Ras Kambooni has tosn of oil off its coast and the Central regions have huge deposits of uraniuam. Not to mention the two rivers goign through 4 provinces which can generate hydro electricity. What does Somaliland have?

So if like you and Monkey are foreever reiterating, that "Somaliland is nothing but desert"
Why then are you lot so preoccupied with us.Why don't you get on with developing your "haven of paradise" and leave Somaliland be

We are not preoccupied with you, the SSC are. South Somalia are busy with their own problems but once South Somalia's problem is resolved the Northern Somalia will be concentrated on. So at the moment worry about Saado Cali's Soldiers in SSC and leave the heavy job of bringing Somalia together for the southern's, Isaaq's were useless from day 1 (1960)seemeyer wrote:^

It doesn't matter if we let you be or not you will never be recognized by the International community. I don't think Somalis as a whole will ever accept the balkanization of the state.seemeyer wrote:^

Kurdistan's situation is totally different to S-land's situation. S'land wants to separate from ONE so-called country (Somalia) while kurdistan wants to split from 4 powerful nations (Iran, Iraq, Syria & Turkey), they all powerful compared to Somalia anyway.. Therefore Kurdistan doesn't stand a chance!!
Plus a small portion of Kurdistan is also within Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Gaining independence from 1 country with no official government is like a stroll in the park compared to gaining separation from 5 very stable nations (excluding Iraq)

This is why Somalia is a mess instead of focusing on .. how to help Southern Somalia
they start .. to disrespect the only part of the country that has had a democratic election, ..
and you know what they say never say never..
If Allah wants Somaliland to be recognised as a country it will happen even if it takes
250 years ..
The people from that part of the country does not want to be part of Somalia so focus on something else

There is a greater chance of a unified somali people across africa if everybody cleaned their own home first.
The constant focus of demaning unity when there isn't a force powerfull enough to make it a reality is a FOOL's cry.
Further more somali people with a single language and a single faith and the same genetic ancestory will never be divided by borders of political affiliations even if we have 10 seperate states within the borders of somaliweyn.
If we are all aware that s.land cannot seperate then why do we add insult to injury?
Why do we taunt them and remind them, as on the issue of recognition the world has given any admin in moqadishu the upper hand on the matter, even though this union with them was based on equality and fairness... are we listening to ourselves as we taunt them? it is not because the world has refused their request and told them that they must discuss the matter with moqadishu that bothers us enough to taunt them, it is that they have not lost the will for 20years to regain something they had before they got involved with us.
The republic will not be shattered, the republic will not be shattered, the republic will not be shattered, the republic will not be shattered, the republic will not be shattered, the republic will not be shattered, the republic will not be shattered, ....
Say it a million times and we wont' make any difference infact we are speeding up the process of an indefinite seperation.
As for Lander listen you handicaps The World said Noooooooo

TFG
Al-shabab
if it was in my hands i would give your release from this lunatic asylum, because the somali seed must be allowed to survive somewhere on earth beside western countries.
