The fat chick (Bosaso) will make a better wife in the long run. With proper maintenance you can turn the fat chick into the hot chick and have the best of both worlds. All it would take is a few million bucks to make Bosaso on par with Xamar in quality, Berbera already beats Xamar in terms of infrastructure and capacity, it can be done easily for Bosaso and the business would already be there. The Ethiopians don't complain about not having a port and yet the TFG and its supporters are too spoiled to put some of their eggs in Bosaso. Personally I don't think any Puntlander wants to control the TFG, that saga ended long ago, now we just want to be treated as a parcel of it.

Revenues from the port fluctuate between $10 an $20 million annually for the gov't, this money is treated as nothing more than war booty, after all the port is controlled by warlord personalities. I have high doubts any of them would spend it on rebuilding unless it was absolutely necessary. This money comes from the white folk, and I'm confident that the white folk are seeing Garowe as an exit strategy for the next TFG.

Not one penny for MJ/iddor controlled territory. Both these tribes have proven time and time again that whenever the federal government helps them devolpe infrastructure, they turn an ungrateful cheek and exert greater autonomy.

I still have yet to see how mogadishu generates more income than Hargeisa or Berbera - never mind Somaliland. Some of the most entrepreneurial Somalis are from Somaliland. In fact we have the top three richest Somalis. And that is with no international help, while hundreds of millions of dollars is literally thrown at you guys.

AbdiIsmail.

Hargeisa is an economically stagnant place compared to Xamar. Somalia's economic heart is Suqa Bakaraha and that one suq has a greater GDP than all of Hargeisa. Most SL businesses make their most profits from work outside SL. Dahabshil if it was to focus just on SL would not be as profitable. Your population in SL is probably 2 million which is about what Xamar's population is. Your SL government has effectively set up huge barriers (economic isbaaros) at Berbera and limited who can trade unlike the free market ports of Xamar and even Bosaso.

So its not personal saxib, just pure business.

That's purely your opinion sxb, not fact - conjecture. And whether we make the money in Somaliland, bintiland or xamar is neither here nor there - the point is we are making the money. In terms of innovation we are far ahead of you, you just follow the trend we set and make your own xawaalad, bank, mobile sevices, internet srvices, construction companies, etc. Granted Xamar has a higher and more diverse population , it is also the capital of Somalia and given the amount of money thrown at Mogadishu by the international community as well as the former Governments of Somalia, it's amazing how you aren't doing much much better. In the 1980's Mogadishu was the jewel of Africa, while Hargiesa looked like bethlehem - look at it now in just 14 years with now help whatsoever. You can only imagine how Hargiesa, Burco and Berbera would be if we'd recieved all the help and encouragement you guys got - as well as the natural resources you have i.e. rivers, vast farmlands etc.

talking about non sense, you wont be able to get a more delusional statement than yours. How cant you say that SL population is 2 millions porpulation when the whole of ex-somalia is calculated around 7-10 million. SL has a population around 3.5 (hargeysa having a population of 1millions+) while Somalia is around 5.5 million. Now are you telling me that banadir alone host 40% of the population in post-1991 Somalia? if thats what your saying then you're either giving credit to benadir which has been in war for the last 20 years with 100 of thousands of death if not close to a million death or you being delusional. Its the same mentality in 1960 when the newly formed somali gov assumed that south has more than double the population of the north since "more tribes" lives there while in fact some southern tribes has been falsely boosting their real numbers and lives in a scarcely populated region which has the same population of one city in waqooyi. The most probable suggestion is that xamaar is a a ghost city with no more than 100 000 people living there. Everyday the population of Xamar decrease and this has been going for the last 20years. lets not kid ourselves, in terms of population xamar is not even in the top 5 and the only economic going in Xamar is that of UN handout.

Their logic is just because a place is called the capital it's population remains constant - which isn't true even in times of peace and prosperity nevermind a civil war that has been going on for 2 decades, mass migration and two famines.

It's like a former policeman who dons a uniform and expects everyone to listen to what he tells them to do - even when he is fired and is no longer a police officer.
