A person who, say, studies maths at Cambridge covers more material in the first/second year than people do four years at an average university. That itself is frowned upon by Oxbridge, and might even had some hand in her rejection; so two years will probably prove disastrous. In the U.S most prestige comes from your graduate school, be it law or medicine. Unfortunately the UK seems to do a lot of specialization in undergraduate....she should wait for Cambridge imo.
