I don't think it has nothing to do with that, most brides feel shy about being the center of attention. I would definitely hate the idea of everyone looking at me and only me, I don't know why but I have yet come across a bride who hasn't dance her wedding night including my Mum, (Yup I actually watch my parents wedding tape I thought it was just beautiful 26 years ago) Anyways I attended a wedding were the pride was singing I thought that was completely ridiculous. If the bride dances at her wedding and just have fun, what's the big deal, it's her big day, It's one of those things that I don't get about our culture. The last wedding I attended which was last year, the bride was dancing and smiling, just having fun in general, and alots of folks were giving her a look of disapproval and shaking their heads in disgust lol WTF whats the problem with that, why is that a such ceeb thing to do?

the definition of ceeb depends on a lot of things in our culture which is partially based on islam. if the pride was dancing in a hall full of men, i would consider that to be ceeb and haram. but if all party attendees were females, i wouldn't consider that to be ceeb. this is based on islamic traditionas, not the traditions of kufar.
