Warta, are you telling us that your grandparents and mine grandparents were not muslims? come on dude, our mothers and grandmothers never wore the wahabi garmet. They were not naked and they were as good muslims as anyone.

You are taking the akhwan muslimin line; my parents were sinners

Armstrong; you are not making sense. Avoid this kind of threads because every line you write shows your level of intelligence

Warta, our parents were never naked (no cowra) they covered their bodies with a somali dress, our fathers and forefathers dressed and prayed.

By calling them living in jaahiliya is an insult; are you saying islam came to somalia in the last 20 years? Come on dude.

This is the sick logic that wahabism is based on! You have to admit that the new dress code is a wahabi inspired dress code.Non-arab muslim countries have each their own dress code; Indonesia, malaysia, african countries, somalis had their guntino and alindhi.

You have to give up !

Warta, there are several concurring theories as to what constitute a islamic dress; it is reported that the quran is unclear on this issue. You are making a big mistake if you are calling the islam that existed in somalia before the arrival of the wahabi dress as being "jaahilnimo". The islam that existed was one of tolerance, no compulsion, no peer pressure, no handcutting etc. The pious women dressed in a somali dress with a garbisaar that covered their heads . Your above pictures do not reflect the dress code of most somalis.

Another question; is islam about clothes and praying? Isn't it a faith that is based on conviction?

Isn't arabic culture emboided in the new islam that you are advocating?

Wardhigleey people used to recite this prayer; zab joog, ziyaar joog allaha ha naga dhigo i.e. before they turned into moryanism and islamism ala "see me"

Admit it! what we are witnessing in somalia is wahabism at work!

I'M TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT SOMALI WOMEN!

Wherever I go, Somali women are the topic. They either degrade us asking why we wear hot abayyas in the summer OR they praise our country for producing such xaax girls. You constantly hear habro Somali busted for jaad(ceeeeeb badanaa), nin cad/adoon bey guursatay(ufeey sharmuuto), She wears jeans(wey gaaloowday  ) she drinks/smokes(walle wey u dhamaatay taasi waa addict), etc... :?

I feel like guys should give us a break since they don't have much to deal with much. Whether she's islamically dressed or not she's still gabar Somaliyeed oo Muslim ah oo sharaf leh. No need to label everyone, if you like the shorty then go talk to her...Simple, no mathematical equations to solve!

Sexykitten, one of the best responses. I don't care what they wear but I am concerned with the social norm that forces the majority of these women to wear garmets that are alien to our culture and the lack of choice.

It is a farce; and the result is a double standard.

My theory is that if somali women were given the right to dress as they wish many of them will abandon the wahabi dress.

I am the first to say hell give them the choice (even if it means wearing the black garmet) but look at the responses here. It is about forcing

Ohhlala, if it is unto Allah to judge then why are some people in here calling for compulsion?

Ohlalalalala... no wonder your name sounds like a soundbite from a 70/80s adultmovie. stop pretending: if you can come up with a name like that you don't need paraphrasing of that sentence.

What is slife?

OOOHlalalalala.

It is simple; it is what is in your heart and mind that matters; not the way you dress. Islamists want to force (compel) people

I guess you're pleading the 5th when it comes to slife

So are you refuting my statement. You're making me frazzled without even knowing what you look like. That's a strong feat.
