Funny thing is I just had a 3 hour lunch with my good friend who got married a couple months ago. He's thinking of divorcing because the girl won't give up a lot of her bad habbits i.e dress etc.

He wants her to wear abaaya and she won't stop wearing jeans

What a stupid friend you have
actually women are the biggest consumers of "he will change when we get married" myth :|

I believe this is one of those precarious things in life that one has to experience personally, for thee to comment and critique on. Therefore when our wives are pregnant, let us see how we handle it, and then shall we should comment on whether husbands overreact or if it is the spouse in that is in the wrong and is being inhospitable.

lets put it this way awowe, most women turn to inhospitable/irrational human being during pregnancy due to those mood altering chemical changes/hormone imbalances she is going through its the nature's course,it comes with the territory of being a family guy,if u cant take care of biz then dont shoot, just pull out and make life easier.its a no brainer

I assume you labelling me awowe is as a sign of respect for the wise and wonderful words I contribute to this forum with vast quantities, so thank you my grandson.

Yes I am aware of the hormonal imbalances that women undergo whilst in pregnancy, however one has to experience it first-hand to know whether it is truly impossible to live with the attitude and inhospitable behaviour, which your spouse may give out. However every woman is different so we can only deal with what hand we are delivered.

Divorce is easier than ABC nowadays...
Waliba what's even more crazy is seeing young girls/guys who are in their early twenties and yet have been married twice and sometimes even 3 times..

I used to think men married females hoping she wont change.. But nowadays it seems like they turned into dumar and they want to change their spouse.. If you want a abayaad/jilbaab wearing wifey.. Than marry one like that, coz she wont retire her skinny jeans for no farax regardless if he's hubby or not!!

For a marriage to work.. Intensions and communication is key from both ends.. Plus it involves a hell of a lot of work!!

It's either people don't take the union seriously to begin with or their expectations didn't parallel with reality.

As I have previously stated in this here forum, I think it is wrong to judge an individual who has divorced his pregnant wife. As it is wrong to take sides in any divorce, who are we to know how unbearable this woman has become during the period that lead up to the divorce. She may have transformed into an unbearable wreck that was caused unliveable conditions that prolonged stay would have lead to her husbands insanity.
In conclusion, we must look at all things objectively, and to quote a famous saying; try to experience how things are in other people's shoes.

because Somali men treat marriage like legal slavery. She's your wife not your property.
